Having a Halloween Scare-a-thon
« on: October 27, 2005, 10:25:01 PM »
I need a scary movie or 2.  Here\'s what\'s on my list already:

1) Event Horizon
2) House on Haunted Hill
3) Night of the Living Dead (John Romero)

#1 because it was recommended to me several times by different people, read the summary on Netflix and it sounds cool.

#2 - seen it before actually but it\'s just a really freaky ass movie.  The ending is horrible I know, but all the stuff that happens beforehand is terrifying.

#3 because I know mm will b!tch unless I have it on there.  But I don\'t think I\'ve seen it in its entirety before either :D

Anything else you guys can recommend would be cool.  We like paranormal/survival stuff.  No Bruce Campbell, Alien, or Jaws.

Those are not very scary. :p

I recommend Shutter, Ringu and... uh... I can\'t think right now. Well The Shining is a nice classic!

Ok Event Horizon is off the list.  Dawn of the Dead (2004) is taking its place.

Shining is not scary to me at all.  Good filmmaking but different strokes different folks.  Shutter can\'t be found anywhere over here.  Ringu, eh I\'m sure it\'s scary but we\'ve all seen the Ring and we\'d prefer something totally new.

Se7en is freaky but there\'s no fear or threat of the good guys losing their lives.

They were at the time, young lad. By the time your boys are 12 years of age, they\'ll think Sept 11 was just an accident.

The entity
White noise
The changeling
Amityville horror (the (original) first one, the rest were shit).
Carebears- the movie
The omen

Girls, damnit. They are girls.

The Changeling is a good one.

Night of Living Dead, due to the fact it\'s a classic.

The Excorist, while I was never a fan, I can see how some apperciate it.

Dead and Breakfast.... Though not scarey has the best song in a horror movie ever.

Night of the demons..... A cute girl sticks lipstick in her boobie. Seriously it is a great flick.

Day of the dead over notld. Pretty sure read interview that Romero even preferred that one.

If you want a joke horror movie. Try a gay zombie one. Prison of the Dead...... though only rent for the joke factor. It is horrible, and I do mean horrible.

The Changeling....... great movie. Few special effects. The story carries this one.
