take off of work for a console launch?

Another forum I belong to has a buncha 30-40 somethings almost bragging that they\'re taking off work to play the 360 on release day. :bow::nerd:

Not sure where you work for just taking a day off . I\'m allowed up to six sick days (each day = a week) and then three weeks vacation.

Yea I just took a vacation day on Halloween. Saving it for Xbox would\'ve been a good idea, too.

We get 85 hours of sick leave per year. 175 hours of vacation leave.

I took off work for the PS2 launch coz I knew I\'d be too tired from standing up all night long for that damn console.

I wish we had a bank overtime option.
We have six sick days, each day equals one week\'s worth of work. So, if I call in one day - I can take that whole week off. Then three weeks vacation, plus a floating holiday - that can be used anytime during the year.

Hell , I\'ve called in just for a movie.

If I\'m out of school and back to work when PS3 is getting released, I\'ll probably take that day off. My boss is understanding and gives me most days I want off, except if the schedule is already made.

I hadn\'t planned on getting one--nothing really compelling enough at launch to warrant it--but I was lucky enough to win one with the Pepsi promotion.  I don\'t know when I\'m getting it (presumably before it hits shelves), but I\'ll take some time to put it through its paces.

I\'m more interested in checking out the BC and its media functions though. Although, PGR3 is awesome, the rest of the lineup is meh.
