ANWR (Artic National Wildlife Refuge) is running out of time.

Oil could begin flowing within seven to 10 years.

600,000 to 1.6 million barrels a day by 2025.

By then we would be way past gasoline dependency, and probably have a new needed energy source to cars/heat houses/etc.

Personally, I\'m against the drilling. But I know it will happen.

ummm.. no?

No way we will be off oil dependency, as it is not in corporate america\'s interest to do so yet.

We will still be using oil, but not to the extent now.

Their is an increasing demand for alternate energy source cars.

At the rate the technology is progressing, I dont see why would need to use gasoline, although we will be.

But what about all the caribou? Their home is being destroyed.

From what I heard, the animal reserve is quite large and they only want to drill in a small specific location.

So?

Countless oil spills, and unseen damages to the natural ecosystem will take place.

What good is it to tap into something we dont, and shouldn\'t need?

The amount time it takes to lose oil dependency is debatable, but once we are past oil dependence what good is to us?

Delicate situation, but I\'m really sick & tired of seeing tons of $35-$45 charges on my cc bill because of gas.  I can\'t wait till we start seeing some of these on the road:

my dad and I were talking about building one of these, just to see how well it worked.  I have an old truck we were going to use:
