In my G drive I have all my music (40gigs), but one huge problem.

When I first transfered the files (mp3 player/cds) it was set to just put the files inside the drive- and not organize them through folders(artist/album).

Basically I wish to organize all music by album name in folders - for easier locating/burning/whatever. How can I do this?

Help please, thanks.

As long as the mp3s have all their ID3 data, use easy CD-DA and just drag them onto the \'file format converter\' and choose \'no process\', but \'rename output file\' to something like / - and it will do it for ya.  if you don\'t have ID3 tags, it\'s going to output wrong, and there\'s no way to do it (besides manually).

Itunes will do it automatically if you tell it to consolidate your library.

Just download it and let it do the work for you.

(Dont want to use iTunes, prefer winamp) Can I just download iTunes then uninstall it and enjoy the organized files?

Ill try CD-DA for now.

I use winamp and just have everything in one folder. If I ever get an MP3 player (which I probably will), I\'ll have a hell of a time organizing all my crap.

iTunes OwnZ WinAmp

And whats so hard about organizing your music? Lazy ass :P

Spend 10 mins doing some cleanup. I can\'t stand having folders and or files all over the damn place.  I have to have a specific folder for everything. People with a desktop filled with shitloads of files piss me off for some reason.

Yes, you can just use Itunes to reorganize your shit, then never look at it again.

I have tried winamp a few times before and I\'d take Windows Media 10 or iTunes over it any day.
