Sociology Song...
« on: December 01, 2005, 09:18:03 PM »
I need to find a song that addresses a specific ( can be a general statement ) aspect of society today (War in Iraq, drug abuse, commercialism, rape, media-bullshit, etc.).

The song I was going to pick was Tool - Stinkfist ( \'Buy, Buy, Buy!\' ), but I\'m trying to find a different song.

Does anyone know some good songs, that would work? I looking for a NIN song, but Im having a hard time finding a solid example.

Thank you for the help

:)

Uh?
One only needs to look back in the 70\'s...Plenty of music.

Hey - how about this classic?

...

"What\'s goin\' on?"

Or maybe..

"Imagine"

Ah...The classics.

No Surprises.

There are thousands of songs that would be better choices than Stinkfist.

I love John Lennon\'s music, but I have a hard time with Imagine.

As always, John\'s lyrics and musical sense are great.. but it\'s sooooo idealistic and speaks of one-world government.

Just hope that it\'s you! :)

Y\'know, hell, I wouldn\'t mind the world throwing the reins over to LiC.

As long as I get to "moderate" some of the "forums", too.

Yes, I need a life.

Tool has got a lot of society bashing songs. Opiate is probably one of my favortie songs by them. The singer is just a great song writer.

Bob Dylan has plenty. John Lennon. Too many... You could find a better song than Stinkfist, but that is a awesome song.

The \'finger/knuckle/shoulder deep within the borderline\' is comparing continual demanding (anal) stimulation, to people constantly demanding more stimulation in the modern world. Its a much deeper ( :laughing : ) song than I would ever imagine after I\'ve done this project.

I\'ll post my write-up on it after I turn finish revising it, if anyone is interested.
