My wife started labor contractions around midnight saturday.  I wake up and help her get into a warm bath to help ease contractions.  We start timing the contractions and they are very close together, unheard of this early along in labor.  With our oldest child, we waited several hours before going to the birth center.  After about an hour we call the birth center and get ready to leave.  We get dressed and I run outside to start the truck to warm it up.  When I get back inside I find my wife spread out on the living room floor making this un-human sound.  I\'m like "What the hell are you doing?  We gotta get moving, I got the car started".  My wife without answering starts pulling her pants off, i\'m freaking and start yelling at her asking her what the hell she is doing.

"The baby is coming now" is all I remember her saying between groans.  I\'m like "hell naw" and start freaking out.  I help her get her pants off and I am greeted by half a head already sticking out... all the while this seems like a dream, how the hell could this be happening so fast?  I yell at my father in law to call 911 and get me some towels and blankets.  He\'s on talking with the dispatcher and before he even gets me a single towel the head is completely out.  But I notice the umbilical cord is wrapped around my daughters neck twice.  I\'m fucking flipping out at this point, trying to get the cord off of her neck.  I can barely get my fingers between the cord and her neck, I tell my wife to stop pushing.  The dispatcher says to hurry up and push, that would be our best bet.  At this point the baby\'s head is turning a deep purple, this is the moment I thought this could be tragic.  My wife pushes one more time and she comes out in one fell swoop.

I\'m like a rodeo cowboy and unlasso the cord as quick as I can and the baby is moving but not making any sound.  My father in law comes in and starts swinging her by her feet while I pat her back and clear out her mouth with my fingers.  After about 30 seconds of this she finally lets out a whimper and starts crying.  And about 1 minute later the paramedics come walking in the front door.  

Seriously this was the scariest shit i\'ve ever experienced, I\'ve never heard of a birth happening so fast.  It was less than 5 minutes from the water breaking to her being completely out.  No pics yet, i\'ll add them soon enough.  And to think I complained about not being involved enough in my first child\'s birth.

Holy shit.  I didn\'t even get to cut my baby\'s chord.  That\'s incredible.

Do they know if the umibilical chord may have caused any problems yet?  Man, I\'d need three pairs of underpants to get through that episode.

That\'s some amazing shit, that\'s for sure. I am not sure I would of been able to keep my head about me during all that, thank god my twins was born via a C-Section, a planned one at that. No contractions, no labor, nada.

What did you name your new addition?

I\'m guessing that means they had a girl....What about you?;)

Post some pictures. Infact, we should just make a thread and post pictures of our kids. I know Vid has one (another comin\'?), you have two, Chizzy has one on the way and I\'ve got two. Did I miss anyone in the lineup?
