One theory holds that the Big Bang occured 13.7 Billion years ago.  The Earth formed 4.5 Billion years ago, and our species may be about 5 million years old.  Therefore, we only account for about .11% of the history of the Earth.  If you thought of that 4.5 Billion years as 24 hours, we would account for about 90 seconds of it.

What was my example? If you are talking about the meter tapes, I wasn\'t saying that was any day. I\'m saying that was how long the humans were on in YEARS compared to the rest of the universe from big bang to now. Besides, I\'m tired of this "well God\'s 24 hours isn\'t the same as hours" bullshit. When the bible was written, when the author said a day, he meant a day in human terms. That\'s it. People keep thinking too far into it. Its a flipping book. People are taking it too damn literal. The days God created the earth was human days, that was the author\'s intention and that\'s how it should be taken. Fundies are changing it to sway people away from science.
