I can afford the cd\'s - but most of them aren\'t worth paying full price for. So, instead I just pay for them via MP3SEARCH.RU. There are some artists I will buy the full cd for, but as far as it goes, I would rather either download from iTunes select tracks or from MP3SEARCH.RU for artists that iTunes doesn\'t have.

I buy cd\'s that I know are good, but I got sick and tired of buying cd\'s that were way overpriced and only had a few good songs.  I mainly just listen to internet radio anymore, I got enough mp3s to last me a good while.

$.99 is the sweetspot for a song... they go trying to raise that they really need a wake-up call

how much is MP3SEARCH.RU paying artists for thier work?

this "it\'s not worth the price" mentality is bullshit
if you like an artist, you support all thier work and buy the album whether you only care for 2-3 songs or not.

when\'s the last time you wrote a letter or an email to the record label asking if you can legally purchase the 2-3 songs you actually like instead of just stealing them?

Personally, I like CDs better anyway than mp3s. During the decompression process, quality is lost. Atleast with a CD, its original and untouched. I do rip CDs onto my mp3 player so I have them whereever I go but in my car, CDs are still king.

i never download,...but it really pains me if i have to buy a cd,..most of the time i only like a couple tracks on the cd while the rest of the songs are garbage....when i was in jersey,..i used to hit this spot that sold original copies of cd\'s AND the bootleg copies..:confused:...don\'t ask me how they kept that store,..cause i don\'t have a clue...it was nice to pay only five bucks for the bootleg joint...:fro:...only thing that was wrong with the bootleg cd was that you didn\'t get the booklet that comes with the original...and that was something i could do without....

still haven\'t found a bootleg spot in georgia yet...:(

I still buy all the music that I listen to, but I *do* buy a lot more discerningly nowadays.  Borrow (library) or download first, then delete/return or buy.  

It\'s just not satisfying plunking down 15-20 bucks for the newest release for most groups, with 1-3 songs I want, and knowing that the artist will maybe see a nickle of that money.  I\'m pretty sure that my media consumption has gone down more and more in recent years as I get more and more jaded.

You gotta support your favorite bands though.

That\'s not what I meant. I know the record industry does stuff to the song. I just meant that data gets lost from the original song in the decompression to mp3 format.
