It\'ll be interesting to see the ratio of games that use the wand and the ones that use the more classic controller.
Wrong. There are two other people who can.

Btw I ve been doing some reading on more impresssions on Wii. I think I could be more pessimistic than I should be. Sonic Wild Fire for example really picked out my interest :)
The impressions they got at IGN are pretty good. Actually they sounded more excited with the Wii version than the PS3/360 versions. The game feels a lot like the 2D sonic with "on-rail" courses that give the sense of speed you got on the 16bit games according to them despite that its 3D. Its also simple and fun!
I think this will be the game I ll wait with most anticipation on Wii. Other games sound promising too.
Here comes the excitement again :)

I still fail to see the Wii controllers advantages. Looks more like a complete pain in the ass to use IMO.

Sure it will have a few games that really take advantage of it, but he majority of games will scream for a more conventional controller design.

If we grew up with this controller, we would say buttons were gimmicks.

Oh look, we\'ve simplified controls and all you have to do now is press a button!

This is a new way to play, and so far the impressions are favorable. Wait until you\'ve tried it. It may work, it may not.

At least it opens the road to creativity.

That means I should have the controller in a certain horizontal position at almost all times. That suggestion also reduces emphasis on the motion sensing. It only replaces jump and duck, which could have been just two buttons with pressure points. Makes the controller sound more like a gimmick.

Even in this particular example, the controller could be used to jump, duck, lean, evade and interact with objects in the environment. You could even use it to perform melee attacks with the butt of your gun.

You need to open your mind. This offers new possibilities and just like the developers, you need to envision its uses. Don\'t box in your thinking.

Like Reggie said ; You need to feel it instead of just seeing it (in this case, reading about it).

Final judgement can only be made when you\'ve played it. I\'m sure Nintendo
has thought about every scenario before this thread even existed.

Anyway, if worst comes to worst, the nunchaku/remote combo is a stripped down GCN/Xbox/PS2 controller.

It\'s not like they completely removed all traditional aspects...

I agree. But whether Nintendo has thought well about every scenario they will also know when they release the console

People want something different - that is why they play Dance Dance games (Dance Dance Mario Mix rocks!) and Guitar Hero (rocks!). It\'s time for a change. I for one embrace the change.
