Playin X360
« on: July 31, 2006, 06:17:40 AM »
It\'s been awhile but I\'m getting back into my Xbox 360.

First, 2K sent me Prey and Sega sent me Chromehounds. I tried \'Hounds and it was awful, but Prey was a fun first-person shooter that wasn\'t difficult and I played it all the way through.

But right now, it\'s actually Frogger and Uno that are keeping me playing.

I bought them on Live Arcade. I wanted Frogger and got Uno with the change. Frogger is fun and I can\'t beat Level 4, but I keep going back to try for the last couple achievements and to see if I can figure out Level 4.

Uno I downloaded because it was cheap and I had never played it before. I wanted to learn how.

So now I know and it\'s actually fun to play on Live with the chat, although you do feel like you\'re completely wasting your life, heh. I\'m trying to rack up 40 wins online and get a couple more achievement points.

Between right now and launch, only Fight Night had me firing up the Xbox.

On an aside, I hear Sony might replicate the Achievement system with its own "Entitlement Points." This was a great idea that benefits gamers and developers (through sales) so I hope that not only does Sony implement the system, but Nintendo does as well.

Tracking points has me tempted to try Tony Hawk again. The only Achievement I unlocked was for creating a guy. Goes to show you how far into that I got, heh. The controls are really wonky, especially since my only other Hawk experience was on the GBA (awesome game).

my brother owns the 360, so i never buy any games. But my brother is moving out sept. 31st so he doesnt really want to spend any money, so all he owns if fight night. But Im pretty impressed with it.

NCAA was fun, but madden 2007 should be awesome. (frys is selling it for 48 bucks so i convinced my brother to buy it when it comes out) All i really play is the burnout demo, and the world cup: road to the fifa world cup demo. Both really fun games that id own if i had a 360.

Dead rising looks like mindless fun..

is the 360 worth 400 right now? probably not. But it will be. Plus seeing as games are 60 bucks now, i wouldnt be buying games as frequently anyway. At least they do price drops for games relatively quickly.

Yeah atm.. i\'m not \'next gen console\' optimistic either.

Imho anyone with a high end pc is better off not buying
XB360 now or PS3 at launch.

Even with Vista/DX10 around the corner, fast pc hardware
will let you play slick pc games thanx to DX9.0L

Entitlement points sound so much like a ripoff of Achievement points (right down to the -ment suffix) that it almost overwrites their usefulness in my mind.

Sony should have really thought up another word. Like "Rewards."

i forgot all about tony hawk\'s pro skater. Only one i played was the first one on ps1, which was awesome. After that it just got too fake and hokey..or it was just the same.

the achievement points didnt really make me want to play. Its cool to see it and all after u do something, but im not playing to get the points. plus it doesnt even tell you what you did in game.

I\'m thinking about getting one soon. There are quite a few games out there I want to play and more on the way. Plus I don\'t have to sell my kidney to get one, unlike PS3.

Yeah I wouldn\'t care if they were called "Achievement Points a la Xbox 360," it\'s still a good idea.

mm, I kinda did yeah.

I got a bunch of launch games and later, Fight Night. 2K and Sega send me stuff now and then, but that\'s it.

Xbox Live Arcade is what I\'ve been using. And with the voice chat, I\'m having fun. As long as I\'m using the system, I don\'t regret buying it.

If the games were cheaper I would\'ve picked up Table Tennis and maybe a couple others. Some day...

i still plan on getting a ps3 at some point, but i gotta admit...just going by what\'s posted at gametrailers,..the 360 really does have some decent games rollin out for it...this is bullet witch

http://www.gametrailers.com/player.php?type=wmv&id=12151

nothing spectacular tru indeed, but it kinda reminds me of bloodrayne a little....still the only thing that i\'m really feelin on the 360 is still gears of war...i\'m impressed with what ms is doin in terms of games...i see alot of original content in their library, while sony at least at this point, i see alot of rehashes. and the games that aren\'t rehashes, i\'m not excited about them as i\'am with gears of war,...but i\'m still going to hold off on the 360 until i see what sony is gonna bring to the table....
knowledge, wisdom & understanding..these are the basic fundamentals of life

if you can\'t amaze them with brilliance, baffle them with bullsh*t....
