Should students wear uniforms to school?

I don\'t see a reason why not, as long as they were comfortable. It\'d be pretty lame to dress kids up so stupid that they were self conscious of it.
 
But I don\'t think it\'s necessary, either.

Most kids self-express by dressing just like everyone else they know.

However, I know of some private schools who have absolutely egregious prices on their uniforms and comes across as nothing but a way to make even more money off of the students\' parents. Particularly when a school has a uniform for every season, and then variations for sports and whatnot.

school my kids go to now enforce uniform wear....which is fine by me,..i just need to by 3 outfits and i\'m good,..saves me a bunch of money..:fro:...kids need to get their education anyway, school is not a fashion show...

i had uniforms in high school. Wasnt that bad. Just a plain polo shirt (any color) and any plain pants except those dickies that have the side cell phone pocket..not sure why. I just wore regular dickies.

as for if public schools should? i dont really think so. But if they do enforce it, i wont care.

99% of schools over here have uniforms anyway, I hated mine.

All the schools I went to never require to wear uniform, and I am happy I don\'t have to wear them.  But the junior high school that I used to went to now require students to wear uniform, but thanks goodness I don\'t have to wear them when i was still a student in that school.

Imagine having to wear them on hot sweat day, eh...I think students perform better in school on the clothes they feel comfortable on than wearing uniforms...

i think kids will feel more comfortable when they can\'t wear a 400$ outfit, and a few other kids can.

uniforms is just another way to put kids of all demographics closer to the same level

My high school was very loose even with the dress code they had. It was never enforced so people wore low cut shirts and shit like that.

I think uniforms are stupid as are dress codes.

I have a tshirt that says LEGALIZE.

No pictures of marijuana, paraphenilia, leafs or anything else - apparently it wasn\'t appropriate and I had to wear it inside out all day long. Bs.

(e) but even you admit that it was about pot. I  guess I don\'t care - you\'re entitled to free thought, but you could argue it\'s distracting which is a big reason some people want uniforms.

Depends on the uniform. I know a girl that had to wear uniforms to her private high school and she looked alright. the skirts were kinda long and the shirts made you rely on your imagination. now the porno type school uniforms that girls wear make them look cute

Who cares if it was about pot - I can vote, I should be able to express myself. I had a big discussion (rather me being bitched) for weathign a shirt like that.
