Anyone try this game?

I\'m about two hours in and basically it\'s like watching a bad movie and whenever a fight scene comes up you get to button mash through it.  Then it\'s back to cut scenes.

I finally got through a tough part, an endurance run through lots of armed fighters. Ended in a boss battle with little health left.

The fighting is the gist of it. Imagine 3D Double Dragon with bad controls and tons of cut scenes during levels.

I usually don\'t pay any mind to the Sega games I get, but I\'m going to hold out a little longer to see how the story plays out.  It\'s somewhat interesting. I\'m also curious to see what new abilities I earn. Right now the fighting is pretty bare bones and the walking controls get wonky whenever the camera switches between fixed positions.

Anyone else?

Doesn\'t really sound like a game worth playing.... so no I haven\'t played it, and I guess I don\'t plan to.  Does it have any redeming features?  Good voice acting?  Quality plot?

ign gave it a decent review and i was thinking about picking this one up. saw videos of the fighting and i was kinda hoping that the fighting sequences would flow a bit smoother like "rise to honor"....heard the story is great tho, and since the gameplay is decent enough and storyline is interesting, i\'ll probably purchase this in the near future...

The gameplay is pretty much button mashing. There\'s a hint of Dead Rising in that you can pick up nearby items for weapons and there\'s a bit of a variety of things to do.

But basically, the whole game is story (so far).

I wouldn\'t recommend putting the money down for this one, maybe try renting it. You might find you really don\'t like it.

In the first two hours of play, for instance, I was probably in control for about 20 or 30 minutes. The more you play, the longer the fight scenes get, though.

It\'s a somewhat interesting mafia story and basically you watch it while helping button mash through a scene from time to time.

Well, I beat it.

The story line is great and is the most compelling part. Some of the fight scenes are good but you fight the controls and camera to the end.

So it\'s a bad game with a great story.

One of the few PS2 games I played to the end, tho... On to Saints Row. :)

not the greatest of games, I was hoping for the controls to be like GTA but they are much worse. Takes a lot of getting used to.
