I don\'t give a shit about blu-ray, wi-fi, online, or a HDD.  I just want the games and there\'s no option for that.

HDD and online lend themselves to gameplay quite easily through game saves, lesser loading times (I think) and online multiplayer.

Blu Ray discs provide more storage for bigger games with higher viewing resolutions.

WiFi is the only one that doesn\'t affect gameplay, but it makes those online modes easier to use.

With the exception of Blu-Ray, I like those other additions to the PS3. Although I think a 60GB harddrive is excessive and if it would have saved the company or consumer money, I would have gone with a 25 gig, just to be a bit more than Microsoft.

i would have scrapped the hard drive altogether

untill games truly install data there to help eliminate loading screens, they are a gimmick and little else.

Can\'t I use a jump drive for PS3 saves?

That\'s yet to be proven.  I haven\'t seen anything on the PS3 that overshadows the likes of Gears of War, Mass Effect, or Viva Pinata in visual presentation.  Developers can cram all the textures they want on to a blu-ray disc but they are still hindered by the ram capacity of the PS3.
