Just Bought Zelda & Mortal Kombat 2
« on: October 02, 2006, 10:37:19 AM »
So, last Saturday, I went to swap meet and bought two SNES games.  Zelda: A Link to the Past and Mortal Kombat 2.

I remember owning Mortal Kombat 2 back in 1994, and  it was missing years later.  We don\'t remember where the game go.  Stolen maybe?  Or maybe my brother let someone borrowed it and that person never returned it.

Now, its good to collect the game again as Mortal Kombat 2 was arguably the best of the Mortal Kombat Series...

Zelda:A Link to the Past, a game which I never played before, so I bought it to give it a try.  Maybe i am grown up or something, and i am getting less and less interest in games i suppose.  this game is pretty simple to play i suppose and can be very addictive if i am a kid again.  About 3 minutes into the game, i kind of lost interest, and i let my 7 years old nephew try it.  He was getting really good at it and was really into it.  The gameplay layout are great too.

I was surprised to find out the SNES cartridge can only hold 1 MByte of data max.  With some can only hold 512 Kbytes....

3 minutes in and you\'re still in the intro. The game hadn\'t even started. Zelda:LTTP isn\'t just a kids\' game. It kind of annoyed me when you referred to it as such, given that I hold it in the highest regard.

Now and then. :)

That said, to each their own.

well, its just that i am not into videogames as i was compare to when i was 10 or 11 years old, and when i reach 18 or 19 years old, videogames kind of lost interest in me.  I know, i miss out some great games, but its okay...

Had I played Zelda:ALTTP before say around age 10 or 11, I would past this game, know most of it secrets and tricks, and when i get older like right now whenever i feel bored again and have that nostalgia feelings, I would play this game again.  But since I never play this game before, I didn\'t feel like figuring out what this buttons do and stuffs...

its not because i am an adult that i am not into this game, its just that i think i kind of lost interest in videogames and doesn\'t feel like taking the time out to play games that i never play before.  I know I am missing out a lot of great games, like PC games too which i almost never play.  Although I remember playing 3-D sprite games like Blake Stone, and possible low polygon 3-D Doom back in the late 90s.  Oh, those innocent and fun times i had...i guess grown ups have too much responsibility and works they need to get done that they don\'t have the time as kids do to enjoy stuffs that they love like games...

I made it halfway through Zelda, to the dark world, and then got stuck and quit.

MK2 was indeed my favorite for the series. I was a kid and I remember making strategy guides for it with a friend...

MK2 pretty much corrected most of the problems with MK1.

Paul: I wasn\'t coming down on you. You\'re definitely coming from a different place than I.
