Sweet, delicious democrats. MMmm.

What\'s your guess on the Senate race?

Whenever it comes down to it like this, the Republicans win, heh.

The House isn\'t a big deal - all they do is control funding... everything else can be vetoed or stopped by the Senate.  The Senate on the other hand is probably going to go to the Dims, but they won\'t have a solid majority.  In 08 after America rejects Nancy Pelosi\'s attempt to turn the US into Eurofags we will see another Republican president.

Also this 6 year election (presidential 2nd term) is no different than any other.  30 seats are the average that get turned over to the other party.

Now with Rumsfield gone they will have less to whine about.  Too bad Bush didn\'t get him to resign 2 weeks ago - it might have saved a few seats.

why the comment? do you not think the GOP had this on the clock? had they won the seats necessary, do you really think rummy would have stepped down?

heh, who\'s cutting and running now?...rumsfield is such a loser, why leave when you\'re still in the middle of this war in iraq?...makes it seems like he given up on the war and himself,...*even tho the war was wrong from the jump*, regardless of the dems gaining some control, it\'s just not a good look for him to do that....that said i really don\'t see anything major happening in terms of the war,...this thing was the republicans mess, and the truth is that the dems can do very little but stay the course.....either that or pull out from iraq altogether,..and clearly we are not going to do that....

i think the american people are gonna be in for a rude awakening when there will be virtually no significant change as far as the war is concerned....i consider myself a dem, but lately it\'s been whoever can get the job done best, whatever party that may be,....but one thing about dems worry me, and maybe this is because i\'m from new jerz, but the last couple of democratic govenors raised the taxes in jersey to almost unbearable proportions, not too long ago the newly elected govenor of jersey raised taxes yet again when he promised he wouldn\'t...that was one of my major reasons for leaving jersey....you cannot buy a decent house up there,...and the property taxes will kill you....

we\'ll see if these dems can break the trend,...

Agree with you on Jersey all the way. Corzine is a son of a bitch. I go to a state college here in Jersey (and lived here all my life) and Corzine cut funds to my school. Yay for higher tuition.

On one hand I am glad that the Dems one for two reasons - it  shook Bush up enough to change things in Iraq and second it will give the country a taste of how kooky and out of touch with the mainstream Nancy Pelosi is.  One great thing about Bush is his ability to make a decision and follow through with it - right or wrong.  On the flip side he isn\'t flexible at all when it comes to changing the way something is done if things aren\'t working.

What will really hurt this country in 08 is if we get a far left president.  We need more moderates - not extreme conservatives or so called "progressives".  We need someone middle of the road on issues to bring this country together.  The reason I despise the Dems so much is that they have been taken over by their kooky far left base.  The same thing some of you liberals on here claim that happened to the GOP with GWB.

Clips how is Rumsfeld resigning not a good thing?  He was the cheif architect of policy in Iraq and most of America agrees that wasn\'t working.  Time to bring in someone new and see if we can straighten this mess out. And luckee - most of the GOP wanted to see Rumsfeld replaced - it should have been done sooner.

everything you stated makes sense giga,..it\'s just that bush defended this guy to the hilt and rumsfield himself was defiant to the end...to just leave like that after the election makes him look like he doesn\'t want to face heat from the dems....i\'m sure if the republicans won the majority, he wouldn\'t have stepped down...bush and his admin. created this mess and they should be the ones to clean it up. i just thought since he and bush took such a strong stance on iraq that he would ride out the storm...that\'s what i would\'ve done anyway...

The democrats are not far left. A lot of republicans are more lbieral on social issues then a lot of democrats. The democrats are moderate-liberal on the economy as are the republicans, and both are conservative on social issues... this far left stuff is bogus and neither party represents social liberals.
