Virtua Fighter 5 review !
« on: March 16, 2007, 04:04:51 AM »
Virtua Fighter 5 is out for the PS3, breathing some much needed life into its line up. For more than 12 years now Virtua Fighter always has been one of the top tier fighting titles out there, due to its depth and nuanced fighting mechanics. That tradition continues with Virtua Fighter 5\'s debut release for the PS3. The visuals are sharp and detailed (especially in high definition 720p), the animation is silky smooth (at 60fps), and the collision detection is better than ever. The fighting system is much of the familiar fare, with expanded moves for each character of course (always a welcome addition) and 2 new characters to play as. El Blaze, the Lucha Libre fighter from Mexico and Eileen, the Monkey Stance Kung Fu fighter from China. They add new balance and depth to Virtua Fighter\'s roster, now weighing in at 17 fighters. The character selection isn\'t as bloated as other fighting games, however the depth to each character and balance of the overall roster is scarcely matched. The presentation is top notch, from the music to the interfaces and the 3D effects in the menus....

i clicked on the link and immediately closed the tab.
nothing irritates me like a blinking "omfg, you\'re a winner!" banner, let alone two of them on the same page.

if psx3central ever becomes that way, shoot me

The only thing that is bothering me is the lack of online play. If they decide to release an update with the said feature attached, I will buy the game.

I want online play as well but unfortunately chances are thin. Lag seems to be a problem for such games
