Doctors remove spiders from boy\'s ear.

ALBANY, Oregon (AP) -- These guys were not exactly Snap, Crackle and Pop.

What began as a faint popping in a 9-year-old boy\'s ear -- "like Rice Krispies" -- ended up as an earache, and the doctor\'s diagnosis was that a pair of spiders made a home in the ear.

"They were walking on my eardrums," Jesse Courtney said.(Watch how an earache led to the creepy discovery )

One of the spiders was still alive after the doctor flushed the fourth-grader\'s left ear canal. His mother, Diane Courtney, said her son insisted he kept hearing a faint popping in his ear -- "like Rice Krispies."

Dr. David Irvine said it looked like the boy had something in his ear when he examined him.

When he irrigated the ear, the first spider came out, dead. The other spider took a second dousing before it emerged, still alive. Both were about the size of a pencil eraser.

Jesse was given the spiders -- now both dead -- as a souvenir. He has taken them to school and his mother has taken them to work.

my wife\'s a nurse and she told me that a young boy came in last week with a tick on his penis..:eek:...kids these days gotta be careful whether they have pets playin\' outside then they come in unchecked, or whether the kids themselves are  playin or walkin\' around in tall grass...i knew this girl at my old job who recieved lyme disease from a deer tick...that s**t almost killed her because she didn\'t know that the small bruise on her leg was actually a tick bite...

she was so sick that in her recovery she had to use crutches because of the the disease affecting her motor functions in the leg in question...

My cousin\'s friend had a gnat stuck on his eardrum and whenever it flapped its wings, his friend said it felt like there was a jackhammer inside his skull. He was in so much pain that he rushed to the nearest medical facility, which happened to be a gynecologist\'s office, rushed past all these women that looked at him funny and he was screaming for help. The doctor was able to get the gnat out of his ear.

Bugs in the ear stories always freak me out.

speaking of bug stories, I had an earwig crawling up my arm in the shower. Not particularly a creepy story, but it weirds me out cause I don\'t have my glasses on so all I see is a brown blur scurrying over my supple naked body.

that tick show was one of the funniest cartoons ever......i used to look foward to watching that show right before xmen on fox....:thumb:
