Hi guys I want to learn how to play, I know many of you a guitar nuts.

What\'s a good choice for an inexpensive starter guitar?

with guitars, i\'d strongly recommend going somewhere like guitar center and trying stuff out.

I\'ve always been a fan of ibanzes and they have some good cheap, starter ones. Fender\'s another one but...everyones got a damn fender,lol. Plus i\'ve found it harder to do artificial harmonics with fender, and you\'ll want to do those when you get better.

but again..go to guitar center or whatever is in the area, ask for some help (since getting the amp to sound right is hard at first), and get the best sounding/best priced one you can find

Artificial harmonics work better on guitars with humbucking pickups, and most fenders have single-coils...

Go for nylon strings. Easier on n00b fingers. Gonna learn to play some Flamenco.

I got a Schecter Gryphon when I started out. It was like a 650 dollar guitar that I got for less than 300. Glad I got it, lol. I love it. I was more attracted to electric than acoustic. Gotta just go for what you are more attracted to. I didn\'t listen to other people\'s advice and went straight for electric and still don\'t regret my decision. I have a shitty acoustic I have to fix up (bought it for 20 bucks at a local record shop when they were closing up. gotta replace the tuners) and can\'t wait to do that this summer. BTW, its a classical guitar. Anyone can help me out finding tuners for it? When I finally get my new digital camera in, I\'ll post pics of what I need.

well if you want to learn guitar, start acoustic, it\'ll build finger strength. But if electric is the way you want to go, check out the basic starter packs, Yamaha, Ibanez, LTD etc... just stay away from Squire.

Squires blow. I played them and couldn\'t stand them. Stay away from Squire amps too. I have a Fender and Crate amp and love them both but I liked the sound the Fender had better. Though I\'m getting something completely different when I get my next amp.
