However, I like how they incorporated the national colors of Great Britain.

they should have made it a countrywide competition for school kids, every school in britain gets their kids to create a logo for the olympics, then each school would pick out one winner from their entrants, they would forward it onto a national competition judged by an impartial comittee, who has nothing to do with the british olympic bid

they would choose the overall winner, then it would be professionally rendered by a graphic design company.

it would cost a hell of a lot less than £400K, and I\'d bet sammy\'s arse that it would look better too, and the winning school could win a financial award for new equipment or something.

That is one of the crappiest logos I\'ve ever seen. They should\'ve just gone to www.sitepoint.com or something. Or had someone who\'s been using Photoshop for 3 minutes because that person would still be able to make a better logo than this explosive diarrhea of design.

Reminds me of my university only on a much larger, dumber scale.  We spent 40k on a new logo that pretty much just italicized the C claw.  Of course we also spent over 100 grand replacing EVERYTHING in the school to fit the new logo.  Keep in mind my university has one of the best design schools in the world.  Why our new president decided to be a dumb bitch is beyond me.

the bbc have been getting viewers to submit their own ideas for an olympic design, they are all better than the official one.



they showed one on breakfast tv that isn\'t on their website, and it was pretty neat, it spelt london with 2012, kind of like 2012don, the first 2 was made to look like a capitalized "L" and the 12 was made to look like an "n"
