potential alone makes me want to watch it...but it\'ll probably be disappointing.

I keep hoping for another good Alien movie.  NOT Aliens vs. Predator.  What a stupid idea it was to combine the two.  The Predator films were idiotic.  The AVP comic books were horrible.  The first AVP movie was awful.  Why don\'t they just drop it?

Fox is methodically destroying a valuable property in the Alien series.  I guess it was too "high brow" and expensive.

I was under the impression that they were making a new Alien movie? Then again, I\'ve been under that impression for years.

Fingers are still crossed.

well i kinda thought the first predator movie was good...back then the special effects and not knowing what was takin\' out those soldiers were pretty interesting, and the jungle setting for it was perfect, predator 2 was garbage.....as far as the aliens flicks go....i like 1 & 2 the best....they kinda started gettin a weak after those two, but they were still pretty decent...

I didn\'t like Alien 3 and Resurrection very much. Alien 3 was a decent movie but when I heard the other plot they were going to use, I liked it better. Basically, they were on a station where the alien started running rampant. Also, Nute and Hicks were main characters in the movie. I hated how Nute and Hicks died, especially Nute because the whole second movie was centered around saving her from the Alien. Seemed like kind of a waste to me. And I liked Hicks and thought he was badass.

I\'m a fan of David Fincher, and Alien3 is actually a great film.  It will seem even better if you watch the alternate version on the DVD rerelease that was issued a few years ago.  Parts of the story make a lot more sense in the alternate version.  I\'m not sure that it\'s a "director\'s cut" because I think Fincher did not participate in the editing of that version, however, it is much closer to what he had in mind.  The theatrical release was hacked apart and nearly incomprehensible in parts.

Alien: Resurrection on the other hand was almost complete, unrefined crap.  It\'s painful to admit it because I am also a fan of Jean-Pierre Juenet, but that film was shit.

He didn\'t have anything on Hudson.

Really now. I didn\'t hear of the DVD rerelease. I\'ll have to check it out.

Bob, I admit that about Hudson. Hudson besides Hicks was my favorite character.

That alternate A3 version is on the Alien Legacy collection...

Great for any movie fan. It comes in a very nice fold out box containing 9 DVDs, one special feature disc for each movie plus one more bonus disc. All 4 movies come with the alternate versions with cut footage or alternate scenes...

Personally, I thought the alternate A3 version made more sense, considering the size of the alien at birth and it explains what happens to a certain character, who seemed to disappear in the theatrical version. However, the theatrical version had the cooler ending...

Of course, no doubt that the extended version of Aliens was far superior to the theatrical...
July 2002: If you had bought $1000.00 worth of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00. Enron, $16.50 left. Worldcom, $5.00 left. If you had bought $1,000.00 worth of Budweiser beer one year ago, drank it all and turned in the cans for the 10 cent deposit, you would have $214.00. Based on the above, my current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.

I agree about Aliens and Alien3.

HOWEVER, the alternate version of the original "Alien" is completely unnecessary and should be ignored.  After seeing that version in the theatrical (digital) re-release a few years ago, I was disappointed in the restored scenes.  It was very clear why Ridley Scott eliminated them back in 1979.

The additional arguments between the characters was boring and didn\'t contribute to the story.  The scene where Ripley finds a cocooned Dallas near the end of the film really destroys the pacing of the final act.  The original theatrical cut was much better with a faster paced conclusion.

Another waste of time....those early trailers were deceiving,.....half of the movie is the predator actually tryin\' to find this thing, and then when it does it\'s dark as hell and you can\'t see s**t....then there were looong strecthes of pointless dialogue...the writing was almost as if i was watching a bad script of 90210...why were they so focused on these humans so much?...they were all forgettable...i almost fell asleep on it,...that\'s how long the strectches were between the action...

The action really didn\'t start to pick up until 1/4 way to the end,...and like i stated even then it was extremely dark to see the action.(they even pulled some of that shaky camera garbage..)...let\'s just make sure that this series doesn\'t exist in the REAL aliens universe because this s**t is garbage to tha 20th power.......don\'t even bother renting this s**t....

Who is this anamoly we call Jumpman? How is he able to do what he does and still survive after years of torment? It seems he feeds on the hate, growing with an intense passion to put unassuming members in their place.

lol yeah AvP #1 was enough for me. Only time I can see myself watching AvP #2 is if its on free tv one random night. They focused on the humans way too much in the first one. Sounds like they did the same thing 2nd time around.
