yahoo messenger problem

Someone on my MSN list is having problems using YIM, well not her, but her husband is on his computer account.

the gist of it is this:

she has no problems on her account, but when he uses it on his, it either tries to shut down as soon as he launches it, or if he does get on, he can\'t see the  text in the conversation box, he can see what he types in the text input box, but when he hits enter, noting comes up.

I don\'t use YIM, I haven\'t used that shit for years, so I don\'t know what to do with it

any ideas, apart from ones saying to get rid of it, I know I wouldn\'t use it in the first place, but they want to keep it.

I\'ve already suggested uninstalling and reinstalling, but she says she has already done that.
Don't waste your words I don't need anything from you. I don't care where you've  been or what you plan to do. I am the resurrection and I am the light. I  couldn't ever bring myself to hate you as I'd like.
