I found a database of a program list of startup programs. I did maintenance a while ago and I found a database on Microsoft\'s website that listed all the programs when you startup. My roommate\'s computer is all messed up and he has like 72 processes running at startup and I told him I\'d help him shut them down to speed up his computer. I can\'t find that database anymore. I found it in 2 seconds when I did my maintenance 3 weeks ago and now I can\'t find it. Help

msconfig

Or more specificully, Start > Run > msconfig ... then click the Startup tab

Or you could download CCleaner ~> http://filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/

Then start the program then click on Tools and then Startup

msconfig is the best way to turn off unwanted programs that start up in your system tray.

The less you have running down there the better

-_- I know that. I was looking for a database of the programs you don\'t need. I found this was a good tool. I searched all the programs I didn\'t want running and I just searched, found out what they did and shut them down.
