This thing lurks in shallow waters and lakes and rivers....i don\'t go to lakes or rivers to cool off,...only the beach.*this article also mentions dirty pool water*..but this is some scary s**t,...by the time you find out what it is you\'re screwed...:ohnoes:

Regarding the brain eating amoeba...

...only in Arizona.  :)  No really.  I recall some years ago they had a problem with flesh eating bacteria in the Salt River.  For reals.  Stay away from Arizona if you don\'t want you body dissolved.

so i\'m never going swimming in a lake again....

i wonder if there\'s any risk in the north. it seems all the cases have been reported in warmer climate states. just seems like a freak thing that happens.
