a dry and boring one at that. GT4 for the ps2 looked good but after a day or 2 lost it\'s appeal quick. Eye candy is not enough to sustain a game on it\'s own. A damage system with real time physics interaction would be a start, that would really change the whole game dynamics and add more value to the game. If there is one 1st party developer than can showcase the potential of the dreaded cell it\'s Polyphony Digital

Maybe GT6?

Those into the sport of driving appreciate these types of games. Clearly nvidia256 still gets driven around by his mommy and can\'t drive a stick shift.

This I will agree with. I have zero interest in a real racing sim, I\'m more a Ridge Racer type of guy. Kinda like I\'m more a VF guy, as opposed to Tekken.

Not out until tomorrow (13/12) but I do agree the franchise is starting to get stale. You are technically just playing GT3 over again but with much pretty graphics, maybe some extra courses and of course new cars.

They REALLY need to impliment realtime dynamic weather/time of day and of course, damage. I mean, they pulled off dynamic weather and TOD on the freaking Dreamcast with Metropolis Street Racer (the very first PGR if you will) and it looked pretty cool (I loved how the game used the system clock to set the time of day on tracks etc, and used time zones to compensate) so if you only ever played the game at night you always raced at night. It was very cool and added alot of detail, as the game always looked different every hour.

MSR was a great game, under rated, if anything. Much like most of the Dreamcast library.

The Sim/Arcade gameplay of GT series is what made it stand out from the rest of the arcade racers. It was a perfect balance of arcade and sim. Ever tried playing Ferrari 355? Great sim....but extremely unforgiving which would turn off most gamers who just want to fly.

GT series have had their gameplay tweaked a bit, for better or worse. There will be online gaming on this version. As far as cosmetic damage goes, that\'s fine. It\'d be nice if it had it. But the core of GT series is the abiliy to drive the course properly using the fundementals of driving.

I appreciate them, but I can understand where he\'s coming from when he says what he does

You lost interest because it wasnt a game of your type. It wasnt mt type either. I bought GT4 for its technical splendor but I havent touched it for a long time. But it has everything for a car racing fanatic to keep him occupied for months
