Turning Off Intel Boot Agent
« on: March 07, 2008, 12:03:47 AM »
Has anyone ever seen this annoying ass screen at startup? I wanted to know if anyone here has figured out a way to remove the damn thing. I went to Intel\'s site and they say to go into the BIOS menu and change the boot order. So...I did...I put CD-ROM, then the HDD, and then the Intel Boot Agent, but the fucker still boots first. Then I tried their other method of opening the IBAUTIL method and to enter IBAUTIL -FD (which means flash disposable I guess) into the utility command line to wipe IBA from the flash memory so it won\'t start anymore, but the utility closes instantly without staying on so I can\'t even enter the command line text.

Any suggestions? -.-

Intel boot agent? Never heard of it. Is there a setting buried somewhere in the BIOS where you can turn it off?
RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAPETIME!

Is that some network boot thing?

It sounds really familiar.

When you see it does it show a MAC address?

Yes, it shows the MAC address and yes it\'s the network boot thing. It adds like 30 seconds to the boot process. I mean you can press escape to cancel it, but you have to press it every fucking time.

Edit: I just used the Bootable DOS Floppy Disk method and the IBAUTIL loaded and I used the command to shut it off, but the fucking thing says it\'s controlled by my BIOS, even though I have it set to not load in my fucking BIOS. This thing is evil. ><

Edit Again: I cleared the motherboard settings and now it shut it off finally. :)
