Sorry luke I feel like an ass, went away for the long weekend. Anyways, from what i\'ve played so far I really like it. I\'m on Bane - Culture PvP server which I thought I would hate but i\'m starting to enjoy it there more.

I like the game because its very different from any other MMO\'s I played before. Also the server your on, Zug, is a french canadian server.

I love it. The combat, the graphics, everything. It\'s a bit buggy, but that\'s to be expected from a new game. It\'ll be fixed in due time.

I too rolled a ToS! They rock, leveling to 20 has been a breeze. I didn\'t even group with anyone, heh. I started with the barb, thinking it would suit me the best. But I rolled it on Fury and the queues there are huge. So I rolled an alt on a less crowded server and it was a ToS. Now I love it way more than the barb, but it\'s not my guild\'s server... dammit. Not sure if I should just go do it again on Fury.

Quadcore Intel @ 3.3 GHz
4 gigs of RAM
9600 GT
Vista Ultimate

Runs fine for me, but there are lots of options to tweak incase you want to run better. You could for example set shaders to 2.0 or 2.X instead of 3.0. I also heard that if you run Windows XP, having windows media player running in the background while you play AoC, it should increase your fps... sounds wacky, and I can\'t test it out, but people say it works.

Also things like disabling grass and such could help getting better fps. Make sure bloom is disabled. You could try setting shadow to character only (or something like that). Just play around and check the fps meter after each change, then you can measure if it\'s worth it.

EDIT: If you want your FPS to show, press ALT+CTRL+F and it shows in the upper left corner of the screen.

I run it at 1900x1200 with everything maxed. But it can chug at times. So I turn down the high quality distance view and as sammy said the shaders bring the FPS way up if you turn them down.

When I durn down some of the view distance options I can manage to still make the game look great at a steady 30fps.

Btw do you guys sometimes have players just randomly dissapearing and then re-appearing?

Also when I change any of the interface options it knocks all my textures down to the lowest setting for some stupid reason and I have to reboot the game to get them back.

Also you guys should check your email, I got a code for a drinking cape in mine and I just bought the regular version.

Yeah I know... tried all that. I\'ve been fucking with the options since i started playing.


Problem for me is I can get like 25-30fps most of the time, but it spikes. The game will freeze for a split second and go down to like 3 or 5fps for a few seconds. Its REALLY annoying.


I got a 8800gts 320mb nvidia card.... Maybe its just time for an upgrade.

And yeah I get the NPC pop out/pop back in thing too.... and the textures thing.

That card is not exactly the best anymore, but on the other hand it doesn\'t completely suck. So unless it has something to do with \'only\' having 320 mb of RAM, then I can\'t see why it wouldn\'t do better.

I\'ve heard of people having low FPS for no apparent reason though, perhaps you\'re one of the unlucky chosen people.
