No I got by it without killing him, I saved the game directly in front of the computer terminal and kept reloading until I got the password right.

Password is Amata. You can then leave without killing her dad.

I figure i`m gonna end up having at least 2 characters. 1 to play as a good guy and 1 to play as a bad guy. Next time I play i`m gonna blow his head off.
