anyone else buy it?

ended up getting it for ps3 and i dont regret it at all. just felt wrong playing it on the 360 controller. i turned down the brightness to only like 4 above the darkest setting and it looks a lot better to me.

and the water isnt that bad either. people said it was like fallout 3\'s water on the ps3 (which does look pretty crappy..but it looks metallicy so i can live with it since the water\'s polluted) so thats what got me worried. but it is a lot better, and the explosions on one part look really good.

im enjoying the coop a lot but still iffy on the AI when i decide to play through it alone to collect stuff

Got it from gamefly today and played it for an hour or so. I\'m really liking it so far, and that\'s coming from a guy who doesn\'t really care fort action games.

are you playing it solo? every time in the demo i would dodge the boss (both of them) right at the last second, but that wouldnt be enough time for sheva to get out of the way and shed end up getting f-ed up. was almost killing it for me but i love coop enough to buy it anyway.

i also get pretty anal about bullet conserving (except i do get a little trigger happy when theres a bunch of guys on the screen at a time)...which the AI doesnt do at all

I just purchased it  today....but i haven\'t had a chance to play it yet.....sounds good so far, and while sheva\'s AI isn\'t the greatest, i\'ve heard it\'s one of the better AI\'s you can experience in a game...her wasting ammo could end up being irritating.

I just started playin\' this last night...and it\'s ok. I have my controls set-up for the RE4 type setting, but something still feels a bit weird about the gameplay...i keep tryin\' to do the 360 quick turn, and the camera seems kinda funky. I guess i just have to get used to it. I\'m not likin\' the inventory management scheme either that much....i\'m not trigger happy with my weapons, and i still found myself with little to no ammo in some parts.

And honestly, i don\'t buy that crap with capcom stating that it adds tension by not having the character walk and shoot....why they haven\'t done that yet boggles the mind...this game screams for that animation to be added. It\'s not a horror game by any means anymore so Chris should be able to walk and shoot.

Lastly i will say that the game looks gorgeous...you absolutely cannot go wrong with either the ps3 or 360....the use of lighting in this game is best i\'ve seen period!!...seriously...you know how your eyes react after you\'ve been in a dark place for long time then when you come out quickly to sunlight you have to squench(spel) your eyes a bit?...this game does that effect brilliantly...i don\'t know how they artificially made that effect possible, but it worked on my eyes..absolutely incredible.

I won\'t let out too much of a spoiler, but i\'m at a point in the game where it looks like it\'s in the late afternoon(orangey theme) and again the afternoon effect is simply astounding..this game is an absolute graphical powerhouse. Up until today, uncharted was the most visually impressive game i\'ve seen to date,..but RE5 has taken that title...it\'s not by a huge gap tho..uncharted can still hold it\'s own to this day, but RE5 edges out the game by a small margin.

I\'ll let my thoughts be known as i further progress, but this game is an absolute pleasure to look at.

Yeah, playing solo... On easy.

I opened up my game for people to join last night and this one dude joined who was waaaaaaay better at the game than I was and it ended up with just me chasing him around while he killed everything.

As astounding as killzone2 looks and plays...i\'m just not into fps..:(...the game has received high scores across the board tho, so i don\'t think you can go wrong with that one.

i may be weird, but i personally like that you cant walk and shoot. i mean..i can do that in every other game. to me these controls are just resident evil controls and it fits the gameplay.

but going by the amount of complaints their getting, id have to imagine theyll have it for the next one. im actually really curious if well get a game like RE4 and 5 or if itll be a huge jump.

But ill agree with the inventory system. i liked the RE4 suitcase a lot more. i think they decided to do it this way because they wanted it to be in-game instead of pausing it so i dont think they couldve used RE4\'s system even if they wanted to

I also don\'t mind the not being able to run and shoot thing. I think it keeps the game from moving too fast.

I understand you, my cousin didn\'t get KZ2, he doesn\'t like FPS, and though he was amazed by the graphics, atmosphere, animations and everything, he prefers a lot TPS action/survival/platform games like RE4,5, R&C, Ninja gaiden, etc.
Me is in love with KZ2, really owned, loving it, loving the furious and intense action, mind-blowing.
Anyway, back on topic, my cousin is getting RE5 and he will tell me all his impressions; and please, post all your impressions about it, I wanna know :D

I finished RE5....and while the story is as good as any RE game(and that\'s not sayin\' much) i thought they wrapped everything up nicely at the end. It\'ll be interesting to see where the series goes from here. Once i got used to the controls, the game was a blast to play...the boss battles are fun and action packed and again...the graphics...i\'m not a graphics whore, but this game looks and plays like a really high end cg movie in realtime...the lighting and the character models look really, really good!...:thumb:

Definitely one of the top games of the year thus far, and even tho the horror element really isn\'t there, the game is an action romp that\'s a blast to play.....small spoiler!!.....later on in the game you\'ll encounter enemies that were witnessed very early in the series and they look great...i\'m tempted to go thru this game again, just to be amazed by it\'s visuals, and i NEVER turn around and play an adventure game after i\'ve beaten it.....great game by capcom and this game is my new favorite RE title. I highly recommend this one.

One last tidbit about the boss battles...the soundtrack sounds like something out of a big budget motion picture....really nicely done.

I think you\'ll have fun playin\' RE5 once you get it....as far as RE1 goes, yeah i miss the creepy atmosphere of the earlier games as well...and i didn\'t get the chance to experience RE-REMAKE on the gamecube, but i did hear that if you\'re going to remake a game, that was the way to do it..i heard that game had creepy atmosphere up tha whazoo!!

With RE5 hittin\' it\'s peak as far as it bein\' an action title, i think they really don\'t have a choice now but to take the game back to it\'s creepy roots....i\'ll be really surprised to see the next game keep it\'s action theme...i\'m ready to tread thru haunted mansions and creepy tight corridors again..:)

I played RE1 on GameCube, fantastic graphics and atmosphere, with beautiful lighting and characters models.  I loved playing it again. And I miss that.
I will get RE5, and I\'m very confident I will enjoy it!  I\'ll let you know :)
