Very true.  I just figure if you are going to paint a ceiling black, anything that\'s white just screams "Hey, look at me!!!"

I was doing trim the other day and finally I was like, you know what, fuck it.  It\'s going to be so freaking dark in here anyway, who cares?

We are getting carpet tomorrow.  Took a while and still a long way from done.  Still a lot more trim work to do and have to get the cabinetry finished, but at least we\'ll be done enough to let me move my edit system upstairs.  I may be ordering my speakers tomorrow...

Man, vid, gman, you guys got awesome set ups.

Lucky guys.

was checking out some other home theaters but I like the style of gman\'s more than these Star Trek / Star Wars themed theaters.

The 6 million dollar one is pretty sweet tho.

We will end up having Red curtains around the screen that will really pop nicely.  Wall art as well will be colorful that\'s why we went with the neutral gray/white colors.

The projector will go inside the large box where the light track bends around the unit.

I still haven\'t built the desk yet, but I can move the desk I have right now up there for the time being.

Vid has the space I wish i had but I\'m not complaining. This past Easter Weekend was an endless loop of movies from my wife\'s family. We\'r saving a lot of money just watching movies here rather than going out.

Not that my relatively meager setup can compare to you guys, but I just bought a 50" Panasonic Plasma (TC-P50S1)... and it\'s freaking amazing.  The wife was a little pissed I got such a big one (I told her I was getting a 42"), but she\'s all good with it after watching HD shows on it for the past few weeks.  I started getting into the show "Breaking Bad" on AMC... mainly because I only want to watch shows in HD anymore.....(very good show BTW).

Coming from a 27" CRT this is just such a massive improvement.  I had to call my neighbor to help me hang it on the wall... with 4 kids in the house I wanted to mount it as high as possible.  For $4 more got the upgraded HD Cable Box from Comcast and I am loving it.  Upconverted DVDs look better than I imagined as well.

Now I just gotta save up for a decent surround sound system... and maybe a ps3 after the price drop to see what 1080p bluray looks like.  Someday I want to do it big with a proper home theater... but that will be down to road when we build our own house in the future (way down the road.. lol).

Well I\'m at another stand still so I\'ll post pics of where I am now.  I don\'t have my projector yet and don\'t really know when I\'ll be able to get one.  I\'m hoping to get a cheap one now and then when they start doing 3-D i\'ll get a good one.

Also need to get our curtain guy to come and measure.  Looking to do some thick red curtains up front around the screen.

Right now this is a great nap room.  Nothing like new recliners and a cold dark room to veg.

Looks sweet.  Make sure you get a TV or projector before you start watching movies.

I dig the office set up back there. Do you use that to cue up stuff on the big screen or is it just coincidence that it\'s back there?

That\'s my edit suite.  The theater is so I can have clients in and I can project my line cut on the screen.  Also what I will be able to do is we shoot a lot of infomercials here in Tampa.  We can shoot shows downstairs, I can have a line cut fed up to the room upstairs.  I can have all the clients up there and I can actually capture and edit the show while it\'s being shot.
