why are they even bothering with this damn game? such a waste of money and there\'s no way in hell it will be worth releasing. it\'s more of a joke than a legitimate AAA game that\'d be worth buying (which is the only option with this much development time), yet they still keep putting money towards it

Why so negative about Duke Nukem?  
 
This game could have been good... it doesn\'t have to be technically cutting edge, or have the world\'s most original story.  There are few games out there that have quite the same sense of humor.  That is really the only thing unique about Duke Nukem, and it\'s what they should have emphasized.
 
Maybe that\'s why they could never get it completed.  It just wasn\'t funny enough?  They should hired some comedy writers.

Hmmm...i don\'t know core..if a game has been in development for over 12 years, there probably were some serious issues goin\' on.....even now whatever percentage of it is completed, i\'m sure the game engine and graphical quality is probably nowhere near the performance and graphical quality of today\'s games. They would probably have to start from scratch.

That\'s my point.  It doesn\'t have to be.  I think maybe they had a publisher who demanded that the game be a cutting edge competitor with the best FPS games out there, and they didn\'t realize that\'s not why people buy a Duke Nukem game.  At least that\'s not why I would consider buying one.

im talking in terms of business, not enjoying the game for what it is. This much development time has had to cost them a lot of money, and it\'s going to take a hell of a game to get the sales to warrent spending all of that money...which i dont think it can be. especially when "hardcore" gamers are all about graphics and games like gears of war...i dont see duke nukem clicking with all of them.

so in business terms i think they shouldve scrapped it a long time ago. i mean...ubisoft has probably made and released 2 assassins creeds/other multiple large-scale games by they time theyve done this duke nukem which probably wont be a AAA game. how they have not scrapped it before (which i thought they did) and find a way to produce the game to be able to release it in that time is confusing to me since it\'s not going to be a cutting edge game like you are saying
