Red Dead Redemption PS3 lands exclusive content

Quote

Gamers are getting eager to play the upcoming Red Dead title and it looks like the PS3 version just landed a couple exclusive pieces of game content that may make multiplatform owners pick the PS3 version over the Xbox 360.

Very similar to Batman: Arkham Asylum, which had the exclusive feature of playing as the Joker, Red Dead Redemption will also feature some exclusive to hopefully sway the consumers mind towards the PS3 version. It did work with Batman and the title ended up outselling the Xbox 360 likely due to that reason. The exclusive content will be Solomon\'s Folly Gang Hideout and Walton Gang Outfit -- according to the retail box. The content is included for free and packed in the game\'s casing. :D

love the atmosphere of the game so far.

and I was one that couldnt see getting into a western game. But I guess it\'s just western movies that bore the crap out of me.

If you like GTA you\'ll like this.

A few annoyances I\'ve had is that some random mission will pop up and the game will quickly say \'go do this\' then like 3 seconds after you think about how to go about doing it, you fail the mission. Didnt help I couldnt remember what button made you get into cover

My problem is I keep hitting COD controls and it\'s totally different.

I played a bit of multiplayer last night and got up to level 6.  Finally started getting the hang of it.  Single player I\'ve only gotten out of the tutorial part a little.  Finally started getting side missions to pop up and had to go to bed.  Great game so far though.

can\'t see why europe has to wait 3 days longer for the game. I just checked my preorder and it\'s still waiting for dispatch, so it looks like I won\'t be getting it tomorrow.

I should have bought my copy from game uk like I normally do, they always deliver the day before official release.

I\'ve heard a few gripes from people on other forums, one that struck me is that considering that it is primarily a vast open deserted landscape, there are a surprising amount of peds around. according to the post he made, if you kill someone in the middle of nowhere, there is always someone there to witness it.

and I\'ve also read that there is a significant drop in frame rate when there is a lot of water in view

it\'s fair to say there are too many people wandering around, but it\'s also not so many that it takes you out of the experience. There are still areas where there\'s not many people.

But its still cool to be in an area where you dont see anyone, but then you randomly come across some guy hunting.

I don\'t mind that, but if I decide to kidnap someone then ride into the desert to mindlessly kill them, I don\'t want the whole force out shooting me because there just happened to be half a dozen people there to witness it.

that was one of my annoyances about GTA4. you could pick a hooker up, driver out into the middle of nowhere, then club her to death with a baseball bat and there would still be the fuzz honing in on you

ah, yea i havent really tried to go \'no country for old men\' and get away with murder. but it wouldnt surprise me if they didnt allow you to do that without getting caught. Seems like a weak shortcut to make considering the attention to detail they put in other areas of the game

I just tried MP and was kind of disappointed with it. Coop free roam might be fun to clear out enemy camps, but the actual competitive online was underwhelming. Maybe I just need to give it more time so I get some better guns and play some different maps/game modes

so multiplayer is like GTA4? I never got into multi on GTA4. I was kind of hoping that the whole online side of the game was a massive step forward this time around.

i only tried gold rush (or whatever), and i\'d play uncharted before this if I want that type of mode

I loved cops and robbers in GTA, but it got old fast.

Havent found a MP game mode I love in RDR. I heard they were releasing some free DLC soon, maybe that will pick it up a bit

but right now, its not a big step above GTA 4

How do you capture someone?  I don\'t have a rope or anything..  Am I supposed to buy one from the general store or something?   I end up just killing everyone.  And where\'s the nudity????????

from what I have seen of other peoples accounts so far, you get a lasso in one of the missions.

I have a question about a minor detail.

when it\'s night time, is the moon the same as it is in the GTA series, fixed and oversized, or is it realistically sized and tracks across the sky like the sun does?

small detail I know, but the oversized novelty moon in the GTA games always annoyed me. there was no reason for it to be like that, and it seemed like rockstar were just cutting corners
