god damn this game is brutal on Insanity difficulty. I dont remember having this much of a problem in a game in a while

It takes like all my ammo just to clear out one area of guys and you lose shields/heath at a crazy pace

was not expecting that when ME1 was easy as cake on insanity

Sorry, correction, an enhanced version\'s coming to PS3, complete with DLC and several small but vital extras. It\'s as huge a deal for us as Gabe Newell taking to the stage at E3 to announce Portal 2 on Sony\'s machine.

Looking further into the future, it practically guarantees the presence of Mass Effect 3 - the conclusion to the trilogy - on our console, as well as continued support from BioWare, the world\'s leading RPG developers.

There are all kinds of reasons to be excited, but, as we hinted at earlier, the main one\'s the game itself

I can\'t wait for this game....there were only two games that i wanted to play on the 360...gears and mass effect.....we already have ME on lock...now if we can somehow get ms sticky hands offa gears, all is well......i could care less about HALO, they can have that....i wouldn\'t mind havin\' alan wake either tho....still this is great news.

If you were concerned that PlayStation 3 owners would get the short end of the stick when BioWare decided to port Mass Effect 2 to the console, rest easy. Packaged with all the downloadable content offerings including Lair of the Shadow Broker and Overlord, as well as new characters Zaeed and Kasumi, the PlayStation 3 will offer the most comprehensive version of the game to date.

The engine has been reworked to utilize the PlayStation 3\'s technology, so if you look closely you might notice the blacker blacks and crisper textures, but you\'ll probably just think it looks sharp and bright. Placing both versions side by side shows off how much better the PS3 version looks during cutscenes, but during normal gameplay it isn\'t leaps and bounds better than the Xbox 360.

We are getting the Ultimate Mass Effect 2

it does look better, not that the game looked bad in any way on 360. The only thing that bugged me graphically was there were these loading pauses during cutscenes in the 360 version that would kind of kill the mood with the skipping. I guess they go away if you put the game on your HDD but I have a launch 360 so I dont have the room to install it.

Curious if that\'s something they got rid of on the ps3 version

I was taking for granted ME2 for PS3 would be another clunky PC port so this new engine its running on sounds like very good news.

Hi Everyone

The Mass Effect team is very proud to announce that Mass Effect 2 for the Playstation 3 has GONE GOLD! What does this mean? Well, it means that BioWare has finished working on the game and it has been sent off to the manufacturer to be turned into copies of the game and shipped to stores for you to buy, It is called “going gold” as back in “the old days” the industry used special gold colored discs for their final versions.

To help celebrate ME2 coming to the PS3, I asked Jesse Houston, the producer for the PS3 version, to do a podcast with me discussing why the Playstation 3 version of Mass Effect 2 is so cool. We’ve had a lot of Playstation users asking to get their hands on Mass Effect for a long time now and Jesse and the team are very pleased with how the PS3 version has come out. Jesse explains the work that went into the PS3 edition, how the controls are designed specifically for the PS3 (but there are options) and more. He even mentions a bit about ME3 and the PS3.

Bioware\'s latest podcast was all about Mass Effect 2 on the PS3 and what great changes are being brought to the game a year after its initial release on PC and Xbox 360. The first and biggest piece of news Bioware dropped was the use of the Mass Effect 3 engine, which will show much improved graphics from the earlier versions.

"We actually created the engine for Mass Effect 3 and used that to make Mass Effect 2 PS3." said producer Jesse Houston. "So we took the content and the story and all the other assets that made up Mass Effect 2, and we put it in the Mass Effect 3 engine. That\'s what we\'re actually delivering."

They went on to describe how much of the downloadable content from Mass Effect 2 will be included on-disc as well as the size of Blu-ray taking away the need to swap discs. The new version will also include an interactive comic that tells the backstory leading up to the game to assist players in making the key decisions that were made in the first Mass Effect.

The list of improvements went on and on, going into patches and tweaks based on critical and user reviews as well as suggestions from the Bioware forums. They really feel this is "the best version of Mass Effect 2" coming out on PS3.

damnit, I hate having spent so many hours playing Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 on the Xbox, having a save game with everything I could use, I saved every character that could be saved and... then it\'s out on the PS3.

I wish I could transfer the save games between consoles when Mass Effect 3 comes out.

Hellz to the yeah!!!...this game is like the GOTY edition...except it doesn\'t have the original game, but it\'s going to be loaded with the DLC\'s as well.......i\'m definitely gettin\' this day 1....and it doesn\'t hurt that ME3 will be on both platforms....then we have Uncharted 3 and the Last Guardian to look forward to...:fro:

is the game going to be 60 bucks? it ended up going to 40 bucks on 360 incredibly quickly for a GOTY quality game..probably because the masses are too busy buying michael jackson games...

anyway, I really want to play the DLC of this game but i heard its only a couple of hours for 5-8 bucks so i\'ve never bitten the bullet. I\'d assume the Liara DLC would be the most important one for the transfer for ME3 so i might get that before it comes out

I think it\'s even more than a ME:2 Goty Edition

So, after Mass Effect 2, we are looking for LBP2, KZ3, Infamous2, Uncharted3, Resistance3, The last Guardian, FFXIII Versus, Mass Effect 3, etc etc   not bad :thumb:

It shows the beginning of the game and it\'s amazing the first time you see it. Just seeing it the 2nd time when you actually play through the game cheapens it

Yep, I never try Demos of Games I know to be Goty or excellent games;  I\'ll buy it together with LBP2.
