Yea i know, this is a playstation forum, but this should just be the \'Console\' section IMO

anyway, they released a cinematic trailer that looks fucking awesome. It\'s been a while since a trailer got me this excited for a game

i was bored and made a few wallpapers.

I wanted to get the part where the assassin shoots the two guys at the same time but I couldnt pause it right when both guns were flashing. But what was cool was I noticed he shoots his right gun before the left, and the right guy gets shot before the guy on the left. Just a cool detail they went out of their way to do instead of making it at exactly the same time (which is probably impossible)

anyway, these were done in paint in like 10 minutes so its not top-quality. I just wanted them for myself

I dunno why theyre shrunken from the originals. maybe to save space on photobuckets servers they do that by default

I just started playing ME last night on PC (gotta love the steam holiday sale.. $5)

so far it\'s very cool, very intimidating when trying to figure out everything you can do in a firefight, but I\'m catching on.

I will def pick up ME2

This would be the one and only game I would buy an Xbox for. But it\'s only one game vs. ps3\'s numerous exclusives... I\'ll save my money for those..

now doesn\'t it make you feel better?

Geoff Keighley: Mass Effect 2 Will Come To PS3, EA Just Can’t Talk About It Yet

Quote

PS3 owners have been waiting for a word, any word that would favor the arrival of Mass Effect 2 coming to PS3, however nothing solid has surfaced, only rumors and speculation. Well now it would seem Geoff Keighley has some inside information concerning the game’s arrival on PS3, and how it’s only a matter of time till this happens.

“Now the fact that [Mass Effect 2] is only on Xbox 360, a lot of debate now about whether it makes sense for publishers to make those games exclusive to a platform,” Keighley said, “I think the game will eventually come out for PlayStation 3 but they just can’t talk about it yet.”

Do you think Keighley is right? The game comes out next week for PC and Xbox 360, rumors have it that ME2 has been leaked on torrent sites, if true it could mean tens of thousands in lost dollars for EA and Bioware.

We’ll keep you posted.

yea, i had to change the channel so I didnt see anything, but the 2 seconds I did see looked awesome.

Im not sure how promoting the game this much is going to work out for them. There\'s nothing else coming out for a few weeks, so gamers for the most part know whether or not theyre getting ME2, and casual gamers are trolls who only buy things with the name \'wii xxxx\'.

wii dance outsold a lot of high quality games..thats how messed up the market is.

havent gotten crazy far..cept 5 hours in one day is a little too much, lol (not 5 hours straight). Even then I had to stop myself from playing.

But it seems like it doesnt stray too far from what ME1 was, but its still a great game and Im only at the beginning, so once the story gets going it should outdo ME1 by a good leap.

My lone problem with the game is the cover system still needs work. Getting into cover is miles better from the first one, but you have to do the Gears of War thing to jump over stuff, where you have to enter cover and then hop over the barrier. Just a little wonky

i love this damn game. Seriously, getting squad members on the first one was a 10 minute mission...now, theyre all big missions that would be like almost half of the main missions in ME1.

I just now started the story, so Im not sure how much bigger those will be from getting the team together but...

GOTY

thinking about it, theyre all about the length of getting liara in ME1..and if I remember correctly she was the only one that took that much time. The rest were gotten through a few conversations on the citadel. Been like 10ish hours just to start the main story

not sure how big of a part the crazy amount of promotion helped get to 2 million sales in a week, but they\'ve already eclipsed uncharted 2 sales. Not saying ME2 was that much better than UC2 (too different), but i just thought that was interesting. UC2\'s lack of sales is a little ridiculous, but ME2 selling well is good

Nope Viper, official figures are not available yet for Mass Effect2 for the 1st week, and Uncharted2 sold 2.78m up to now.  and yes, as you said, the massive AD helped a lot.

Quote

Mass Effect 2 had an excellent opening day in the Americas. According to VGChartz preliminary estimates, around 500,000 copies of the game were sold on day one on Xbox 360 (PC sales were not tracked). Extrapolating for the week, total sales should surpass 700,000 in the Americas by Saturday. With a strong launch also expected in Europe (the UK especially), total sales by Saturday could be close to one million units worldwide on Xbox 360 - about it line with the launch of Fable II back in October 2008. The original Mass Effect sold 2.1 million copies on Xbox 360 in total and 400,000 in week one - Mass Effect 2 will comfortably outperform that.  VGChartz.

In comparison, Uncharted2 sold 837,569 in its 1st week, which is not so far from the estimated 1 million for ME2. I think you took those total numbers from Mass Effect1.

edited : heard from people who\'s playing ME2 that the game still uses mostly narrow corridor shooting, while Uncharted2...well...we know.   They are too different to be compared, as you said.
