Modern Warfare 2 Maps a comin\'

They announced the date on the new map pack (Stimulus Pack) for XBox as the end of the month.

What\'s the delay on the PS3 map pack? Isn\'t it like a month?  I\'m ready.....

Here is the rumor...not sure how accurate it is....

Let\'s just say expect a video in 1-2 weeks. Not from me but anyway here are the full contents
(7 maps, 4 old 3 new)

COD 4 Maps
- crash (best map here IMO, not much change, but there are many more places to jump and hide, very good for Search and Destroy this time)(ghillie: urban)

-overgrown(best map in graphics, many more places to avoid snipers, balancing the map very well.Found an new building in very back of map with a roof you can get on, can go under bridge easier now)(ghillie: Woodland)

-vacant(don\'t know why this is back but there is now an extra story in every building, very big map now, get ready for sniping here, best map in whole game for Domination or Search)(ghillie: urban)

-shipment(most changed map so far, 2x as big in width with more crates and way better respawn, AC130 or airstrikes won\'t destroy all of map, more cover near outside of map, think size as big as Rust but not as tall)(ghillie: Woodland)

(all have been remade, but not by a whole lot.Graphics are amazingly updated)

1 new camouflage (yep, gold for each section of gun (excluding riot shield and launchers) like COD4)
guns with gold camouflage are:
- AK - 47
- P90
- RPD
- Intervention
- PP2000
- Striker
- Desert Eagle

needed to unlock golden camouflage:
- buy Map Pack 1
- 3000 kills with weapons, 300 head shots with weapons (all weapons in that category)
(example: to get golden p90 get 300 kills with all sub-machine guns and 300 headhsots with all sub-machine guns)

Also play list update scheduled for march 30th
i\'m not going to say what they are because I don\'t even know but when I do I\'m not going to post it, let\'s keep these a suprise.

no new guns or perks they weren\'t found in the package.

March 13, 2010 - Details about Infinity Ward\'s upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 map pack, titled the Stimulus Package, has been posted on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace website. This download contains five maps in total, two of which appeared in the first Modern Warfare title.

This pack will be available to download on Xbox LIVE starting on March 30. PS3 and PC owners will have to wait a bit longer. No price for the content was listed.

Here are the map descriptions:

Bailout - a multi-level apartment complex

Storm - an open industrial park littered with heavy machinery

Salvage - a snowy junkyard fortified by stacked debris and crushed cars.

Crash - a war-torn urban environment (CoD4)

Overgrown - features a massive dry creek bed (CoD4)

I\'m gonna safely assume Microsoft paid to get the map pack ahead of the rest.

They did, just like MW1 and COD5.

I havent played it in a while because of other games, so I wasnt planning on getting them anyway, but 15 bucks for 4 new maps and 2 old ones is pretty ridiculous.

Activision is turning into gaming\'s walmart/starbucks/exxon. I\'m rooting for those ex-Infinity Ward guys to win the lawsuit and gain the rights to modern warfare just so activision wont have it anymore.

I also got joy out of tony hawk\'s new peripheral/game failing miserably. bobby kotick is a king douchebag amongst douchebags

I feel somewhat robbed having to pay for COD4 maps, when I already own them. some companies will do anything to get as much money for as little effort.

only good thing to say about it, is that they are my favourite COD4 maps.

I hope they are fully reworked with larger playing areas and are not just shamelessly imported into MW2.

this pack won\'t be a day 1 purchase for me, but depending on how they shape up after seeing videos, I might shell out at some poitm

Recycling old maps is pretty gay. I played countless hours on those maps in cod4 and really have no desire to pay for them again.

Good think BFBC2 is fucking awesome and has totally taken the place of MW2 for my FPS addiction, or I\'d probably get it at least for the new maps.  Pass...

2 maps totally ripped off for a quick buck, IW has no shame.

when I heard they were including 2 original MW maps, I thought they would give them a total overhaul, like they did with the chinatown map, that was completely remodelled on carantan from a previous installment, or at least add to the size of the maps by adding new areas and buildings.

all they have done, is furnish a few of the rooms and made minor cosmetic tweaks to the environments.

can\'t say that I\'m not disappointed to be honest, even though these are my 2 favourite maps from cod4

it\'s just fun to hate on activision now,lol. I knew before MW2 came out there\'d be a lot of blind hatred, just like anything else that\'s crazy popular. It was halo before MW2, metallica, disco, etc, etc.

but still, it only makes business sense to fuck over the users and charge more than they should for stuff. Even if they get a smaller percentage of people who buy in to their more expensive stuff, they still have 12 million+ users to work with. (e.g. 20% of 12 million is the same as 40% of 6 million...and 6 million would be amazing for most games)

I have only ever downloaded 2 map packs, one was for MW and the other was for WAW.

the only map to my knowledge that was reused, was the chinatown one on MW, which was completely overhauled.

if my memory serves me correctly, both map packs cost me about £7 each, so considering that I hadn\'t played any of the maps before, I wasn\'t too bothered by it.

I have a feeling that they intend to bleed us for whatever they can get with this MW2 release. you might be getting it for $15.99 or whatever it is, which equates to about £8-9, but I bet we get fucked over and get charged close to £15.

I can\'t see how it is fair to demand that sort of money for a map pack where I already own 2 of the 5 from another game.

it wouldn\'t have been so bad if they had been totally reworked like chinatown was, but like viper sarcastically stated, it in no way justifies the price tag for a couple of old maps that only have a few things added from the originals.

it\'s all very well if you have never played the originals, if I hadn\'t played them in MW, I would be sharing your views. but I\'m fairly certain that a lot of MW veterans will probably be looking on this "stimulus package" with a fair amount of contempt.

I don\'t think I\'ll be buying the pack, at least not straight away. I\'ll probably hold on until they do a special offer that cuts the price tag for a limited time.
