God of War III pushed the boundaries of what we thought was possible in current-gen games, with colossal creatures dynamically affecting the environment, while also acting as entire levels. Developers of the award-winning title, Sony Santa Monica, are now hard at work on their next project, and with the development team nearly doubling in size, it looks like their newest title will be even bigger.

It’s already been revealed that the Sony Santa Monica team are hiring for new talent, but the actual scale of the recruitment was previously unknown. Speaking on GTTV’s Bonus Round, Director of Product Development at Santa Monica, John Hight explained how the developers were planning to double in size:
Quote

During this particular part of our growth, which we’re right now at about 105 full time, we’re gonna go to about 200 people which is still huge. I mean God of War II had about 60 people so we grew quite a bit during God of War III.

John Hight previously revealed in an interview that the development team for the $44 million costing GOW III grew to 135 during production, still far shy of the 200 mark they are aiming for now.

Considering the fact that GOW II had half the development team of number 3, the next project – which could be anything from another God of War to a new IP – should be truly incredible.

I thought God of War3 was great, but i thought the story was lacking a bit....kratos had "0" personality and the story was fleshed out better in the first two games...still i\'d like to see were the God of war series goes from here....well actually i think the series is over, so i\'d be interesting to see what this team comes up with next.
knowledge, wisdom & understanding..these are the basic fundamentals of life

if you can\'t amaze them with brilliance, baffle them with bullsh*t....

Resume leaks God of War 4

Quote

God of War fans must be going crazy, right now, just like I am. After the recent rumour that Santa Monica might be working on an online God of War game, a job resume by an animator whose name has been withheld for security reasons filed under Motion Logic Studios leaked God of War IV.

Quote

You can see in the second image that he is currently working on game cinematics for God of War 4, and is “Responsible for Character Animation in Maya.”

We can also see “God of War IV- Game Cinematic Test” from the first image.

Motion logic Studios have listed several works for “unannounced AAA” titles on their website. Logically, these work should be animations for God of War IV. Sony has said before that God of War was not done with GoWIII, that we will be seeing more God of War games, but this is the first (unofficial) confirmation we have got.

Stay tuned, we’ll have more info for you soon.
