Hundreds of classic arcade games played in your browser

Pretty sure it's all legit. Feel free to lifetime ban me if it's not supposed to go here.

Wasn't sure to post it here or in the arcade section, but there we have it. Click on the game you want, then over on the right hand side under the screen cap of the game it should have a "run" application link. Click that!

It's quite impressive for that to run in a browser like that. The sound is a bit juddery though for me so I'll stick to playing them on a regular MAME emulator.  :p

There are plenty of sites like this btw

SNES http://www.snesfun.com/

wow Kurt Angle, the www.snesfun.com website that you introduce is amazing.  it has games like wanderers from ys 3, super mario all-stars/ super mario world, and zelda: a link to the past.

i never knew it was that simple to play it online on a browser.  so simple.  i heard of emulators for retro games before for years, but i didn't have the interest to bother looking for it in the search engine and i thought it might be a hassle and somewhat hard to install or play it on a pc.  didn't know it was pretty straightforward and simple to play it on a browser.  now i know.  how cool is that!

i am opening wanderers from ys 3 on a browser and damn, the musics in this game are awesome.  the color of these 16 bits game are so rich and pure.  I remember over 20 years ago when i play those nes/genesis/snes games on rfu composite video on an interlaced tv, the color look drap and light because its has to be downconverted those full rgb/component video down to composite for the old tvs back then.  not only that but its interlaced.

now i can enjoy these games in full rgb/component color and progressive scan, not interlaced.  yah!

not only that but the sound is rich and pure too because the digital to analog converter and audio processor are done a lot better on my laptop than from the old super nintendo audio d/a converter and processing quality.  its just sound richer, louder, and cleaner on the browser than on the snes system.  the only drawback is that my laptop speakers are small so it probably doesn't sounds as good as bigger speakers on a tv or hometheater system but that is understandable though.  but it still doesn't hide the richness and cleanness sound of it on my laptop.

only drawback is they do look very pixelated.  must be from very low resolution of around 320 x 240 being upscale to higher resolution...must be a pretty bad upscaling...i never bought a seperate controller for pc/laptop before so controlling on a keyboard is nice but not as good as controlling it with a controller.  that is another drawback playing it on a pc/laptop.

i never play zelda: a link to the past before but i heard very good and great things about it.  i bought that game in 2006 on swap meet and i think my nephew play the heck out of it and probably pass the whole entire game.  i might try it on a browser in the nearby future though.

you just open up a whole new world for me because beside retro snes games, there are nes, sega genesis, etc. games to be explore... :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

3 weeks ago, my sister let me have old school retro game systems and i play it in my bedroom.  i plugged the snes on my 21" CRT TV and it supports rca composite video.

the picture comes out really good on this tv because its crt and its a sony trinitron.  although its composite video but i can still see really good color reproduction.  the sounds come out really good too despite the small speakers on small tv.

i did had great fun playing super mario all-stars, and the first game i play is super mario 3.  other games i play are super mario 2, power rangers, and finally wanderers from ys 3.  i only got one controller and i think the 2nd controller is at my sister's house.  this controller works but the directional buttons are kind of broken though.  so i might borrow my sister's 2nd controller and the game zelda: a link to the past in the nearby future.

about 10 days later, i move the snes to the living room and enjoy the home theater sound.  the picture look good on the 55" led lcd screen but i notice there are motion blur on fast moving objects on the screen.  like when i match the moving pictures on the game super mario 3, there are really bad annoying blur of the moving pictures.  its typical of lcd to have motion blur.  i didn't find any motion blur on the crt tv though.  oh yeah, the led lcd hdtv has to de-interlace the 480i signal into 480p too and since this big screen was a low end model and was bought pretty cheap.  it probably bob the interlaced picture which makes the picture softer.

and now i get to enjoy these retro games on the internet browser, but in full 16 bits RGB color and progressive scan on my pc monitor.  yay!  Sure its still led lcd but its a higher end model so it should look better than the led lcd in the living room.

i just play mega man x2 on the browser and after a minute playing with the keyboard as the controller.  my wrists start to ache.  maybe i should start buying a controller for pc...

There are thousands of games to play on those links I posted Paul and they all run pretty much perfectly too. Its handy if you want a quick game and can't be bothered to download an emulator and search for all the roms.  :)

I don't think so Paul. You can remap the keys to change them but no option to select a joystick.
