So this cop in South Carolina who shot the black man....

For those who don't know, the biggest current event is this cop from South Carolina who shot the unarmed man 8 times in the back as he ran. He has been charged with murder after video came out (below). What's crazy is you see the guy run, the cop drops his taser, shoots the guy, picks something up (what I think is the taser) then drops it next to the body after he cuffs him. I normally take these things case by case. I don't believe police run around shooting black people. But this, I feel is without a doubt, murder. There was no reason to shoot someone who is running away from you. What are your opinions on this?

i just read about it on the news on the internet today and that was really sad and so wrong.  i watched some suggested videos from that youtube video you embedded and it does show him dropped the taser next to the guy that he shot 8 times.

its clearly the police officer is trying to killed that guy and planted evidence there.  Not only that but after he shot him, he approached him and said "put your hands behind your back."  Its clearly he is pretending to make it looks like he didn't shot him and pretended that the other guy is still alive to cuffs his hands to fake an arrest.

i just watched the unedited video posted on youtube on this thread here for the first time.  it does show the victim getting shot was running away from the officer as the officer shot him 8 times and not sure how many times the bullets hit the victim.  pretty sad.  i wonder if race has anything to do with it but i am very sure it does.  i think the officer is racist.  i remember months ago where people were protesting about similar case and held a sign that said "black lives matter" and its very true.

added:  if it weren't a civilian record this video, i am not sure who to believe honestly.  i would think the officer was telling the truth that he feared for his life and he shot back in self defense or something like that assuming if he is going to say he shot the other guy in self defense.  the great thing someone recorded it and come forward with it or however you say it.  he showed it to the victim's family, a laywer, and the police station i think.

Yeah...this s**t is just pathetic.....it's why black folks are so skeptical about every white cop they happen to interact with because of bulls**t like this. I've stated plenty of times when i was pulled over by the cops just for cruising through those white suburbs of Jersey years ago...Nothing along the lines of what happened in this vid, but being harrrassed in the sense of the obvious racism is condescending/annoying and outright disrespectful.

People are getting tired of this s**t and it's unfortunate that you now see and hear about small incidents in how cops are being targeted randomly by these young Afri. Americans in these urban areas....i feel bad for these good cops caught in the cross fire, but there are just too many scenarios where black teens/adults are ending up dead when approached by cops.

Clips, did you hear about the black man in Bridgeton who got killed by the black cop? The Star Ledger got the video. When I can get to my computer I'll dig it up. It was huge news here in Jersey but I dont think it went national.

That's what troubles me is how many cases didn't come up because of crooked cops. I mean you hear about the police corruption against minorities like in Newark in the 80s but until recently it wasn't reported like it is now, thanks to advancements of technology. But now whenever a black man is shot by police whether it is a justified use of deadly force or not, the media creates a firestorm, often than not before the facts have come out. I'm just glad that some positive steps have begun to take hold. The body cameras are definitely a good step for both sides. It protects the police officers in some of these cases and also protects the citizens from crooked cops.

Pretty screwed up man, It was definitely a cold blooded kill. 8 times in the back isn't about stopping someone, It's about killing them.

Are you saying they only pulled over black people? or are you saying a white cop pulling over a black person is racist?  personally i don't see how any cop pulling over anyone is racist. It's what happens after they pull u over that defines you being targeted for racism. Not saying it doesn't happen, just comes across racist when u think a all white cops are targeting you because your black etc

I have friends that are cops and they pull over shit loads of people all the time, all different types, for no reason other then license / vehicle checks. You'd be amazed at how many people drive without a valid licience in unroadworthy cars or even while drunk. This is random pull overs btw.


also on a side note. There would be a shit tonne of sociopaths in the police force itching to shot people. 1 in 25 people are sociopaths. That's 10 million Americans, 1 million aussies etc.

I can actually verify this for clips. Its probably not a problem in Australia but it is pretty common for cops to pull a black person over due to racial profiling here in the US. And clips was originally from NJ and I am too and I can vouch that the New Jersey State Police were notorious for their racial profiling. Me and clips actually were talking about how corrupt NJSP were in a thread a few years ago. There were lawsuits and legislative action to change their policies and as far as I know they are still working on it.
