The official number is now 350 developers, of those 350, some are 3rd parties, some are 2nd parties, and some are 1st parties...
Now that Sony has new kits, the question is now will Sony replace 989, and move them to other projects...
There are over 100 1st party developers for Sony, and they could easily be replaced since almost every developer Sony has will be on a evenly level field because of the new kits. I believe of those 350 developers, there is some studio that can match the likes of EA, Square, or even Visual Concepts.
989, it looks like Sony may be eyeing another Gameday developer for next year.
By the way, those 350 developers will be developing Japanese games and US games, great move by Sony. So that means Japanese developers will be sending some games to the US.
Could we see Pseudo replacing 989 Studios. Pseudo is a small developer that Sony made apart of there studios last year, they have never made a game before, but was made to be put on stand by until they were ready to be used. Now that Sony wants all developers to make games Pseudo is the candidate to replace 989, if Sony were to move 989 to different agendas.(Source Gamespot TV on Techtv September of 2000 edition)
