Dengeki-oh magazine recently asked six major Japanese third party publishers some questions about their thoughts on the future of gaming over the next few years. While Square didn\'t fully participate in the questioning, the company did have an interesting answer for one of the questions. When asked about the company\'s strategy for 2001, Square\'s representitive replied:
"Surely the biggest is FFX. However, in addition, we have the FF movie, PlayOnline, the Wonder Swan; we really have lots of things coming up next year. But the details are still...secret (laughs). Anyway, for the opening of the New Year (translator\'s note- the connotation from the rep\'s words usually refers to the first two weeks of January), we would like to make an announcement regarding FFX, in some form or another. Please look forward to it."
So, there you have it. It appears that sometime during the first half of January that Square will be making some major announcement with regard to Final Fantasy X. We are definitely looking forward to it, that\'s for sure.
Will they announce it\'s exclusive only to the PS2, because Square has said it\'s good news for PS2 fans.
A movie, and 2 good game all in one year. Sony/Square must be proud of themselves, and may be happy with staying with Sony after this year.
