My wife is looking for a game similar to Escape from Monkey Island. This was a P.C. game and she really enjoyed it. Does any one know of any games similar to this for PS1 or 2 ?

It was a darkness all my own, a song played on the radio, It went straight to my heart - I carried it with me - until the darkness was gone.

Hey.. the Monkey Island games rock!
Doesn\'t look like the people on these boards play PC games, just a bunch of console slaves ;) heh...

Sadly there aren\'t many adventure games on the PS1 and none for the PS2 yet.
But you should definitely check out the two Broken Sword games by Revolution for PS1...
Really good adventure games, I loved them anyway...

I don\'t remember any adventure games in development for the PS2, but if she likes Escape from Monkey Island you must buy her Monkey Island 1&2( if she don\'t have them yet :) ). They are so old in graphics( specially the originals), but they\'ve a fantastic sense of humor.
If you\'re looking for something more actual, try Grim Fandango( these aren\'t good times for the adventure games :( )
Whatever

My advice is to just get all the Lucas Arts adventure games,
they all kick serious ass... Check out these for the PC
They are all legendary!

Full Throttle
The Dig
Day Of The Tentacle
Indiana Jones series except The Infernal Machine
Monkey Island series
Grim Fandango
Sam & Max

Yeah, the closest you\'re going to find to a true adventure on the PSX or PS2 is probably the Resident Evil & Silent Hill series. I have heard that there are groups waiting to make a Windows9x,3.1, & Dos emulators for the PS2 HDD once it comes out. You may want to wait for that and download a bunch of Abandonware titles like "Beneith a Steel Sky", "Hugo\'s House of Horrors", and "Manic Mansion". You can also still buy humorous Adventure titles (even if they are a bit old) from LucasArts & Sierra. I suggest the full Monkey Island series, Sam & Max, The Grim Fendago, Space Quest Anthology, Leisure Suit Larry\'s Greatest Hits (And Misses), The King\'s Quest Anthology (Or at least KQ6), and the Quest for Glory Anthology (RPG/Adventure/Action hybrid). On a console with standard hardware (Like the PS2 & Xbox) bugs like Runtime Errors and Driver incompatability can be much more easily worked out.

More serious adventure titles worth your interest are Police Quest Collection, The Indiana Jones Trillogy, and Phantasmagora. Some are still new enough that you can find them at just about any major retailer. The Longest Journey, Gabriel Knight III, Quest for Glory V, and King\'s Quest 8 are all worth checking out.

From what I\'ve heard, Shenmue for the DC is pretty close to being an adventure, so you may want to check that one out as well.

I like the other guys would suggest sticking with the PC on these games.  If you liked Escape, I would definitely get Grim Fandango.  It controls the same as Escape and it\'s a great game.  Also the Leisure Suit Larry games are a trip and a half.
