Should I get Monster Cables?
« on: December 31, 2000, 01:16:33 AM »
I saw the new Monster Cables made for the Ps2. I was wondering if they make that much of a difference? For 35 bucks I wanna know what they are all about. Thanks.

Does your TV have an s-video input?  If so, the Monster Gamelink 300 kit makes a HUGE difference in picture and sound quality.  The TV in my room only has an RCA video input, so I had to get the Gamelink 200 instead.  I\'ll have to say that it makes a bigger difference in sound quality than anything else.

Depends on the capability of your TV.  There\'s one for RCA cables as well(standard on all TV\'s), so no matter what it will work.  If you want a very clear and crisp image and sound, then yes, get them.  If your happy with what you\'ve got, don\'t bother, why fix what isn\'t broken?

For the average consumer, the difference in quality between the $35 Monster s-video cable and the $9 Interact Performance s-vid cable is almost indistinguishable.  I notice less dot crawl though...

If you\'re planning on using the digital out on the back of the ps2 for sound you definitely want to go with the Monster fiber optic cable.  Don\'t go for any cheap imitations.  The monster cable will definitely make a difference when games are coded for 5.1 surround sound.
