The further of PS2 in New Zealand
« on: January 01, 2001, 06:32:30 PM »
I got PS2 on the date it first released (30/11/2000).  I made booking a month before that and afraid to miss for the first ship.  But there are not many people buy PS2 here, unlike anywhere else, PS2 in NZ is not so short-demand.  By the date it releases up to now, you can still buy a PS2 everywhere easily.  Actually I don\'t need to make the booking for it.

And because of this, I think this is the reason why it\'s got such a short game list.  I mean I got the chance wanna spend some money on PS2 games, but the games are not really worth.

I only got 3 games (TTT, RR5 and Orphen) to play now, starting get bored, WANT SOME NEW AND GOOD GAMES especially in NZ.  It\'s very slow here!!  Can this be changed??(I hope so)

hey I\'m right now staying in NZ

one thing suprised me

ps2 has hardly any competition

I have only seen one shop that sells dc games,"centralpark in roturua"
I havent seen many N64 games either, except GB gmes at the warehouse (god, I hate those Warehouse adds!!)

anyway

ps2 is doing fine here! ;)

Do you believe in a god that opens eyes?
Do you believe in a god that tells you lies?
Or do you believe in me??

JackZ you idiot, Australia has a population of 20 million with more than 1.2 million PSXs sold thats quite alot! Plus over 800,000 N64\'s too!
$749AU=$418US. which may seem like alot (it is) but everything is expensive over here, the DC when it launched though was $499AU.
I\'ve seen AU$115 PS2 games (Timesplitters I think) which is $64, even at such high prices, console gaming is very popular down here.

hey buddy don\'t call me an idiot will, screw ur A-S-S.......i just giving my opinion....what im saying that aus/nz gaming industry and gamers is not as hot as US and JAP....ok....get it...i asked u, as an aussie, how many game did you buy within a month...? aust release date is always lame, especially pc games.....distributor difficulty always exist......pal games is always very late in the conversion process and some games never reach pal version at all, why? cause demand is simply  not high enough......
OK here is other one, have u ever seen lots of nice gaming review website, website dedicated to games in australia or nz....the answer is NO, when u read game review mostly came from US........if aust and nz fan is very manic and a great gamers.....there would be such kind of website...don\'t u think...? for god sake...how long gameshark(in aust "datel") product have to get iin....it\'s here now but it took a long time to see one land in aust.....
Everyone would think ps2...with 750$AUD....is kinda expensive i knew that...and if u buy a $115 timesplitters....i would say ur another idiot....do some research or look at couple of store first..OK
Plus stupid new GST make everything especially games look expensive....screw GST....

Hey im not looking for a fight MAN :(
Cheers)

The only place I saw that they had no PS2\'s on store was Noel Leeming at albany mega center. And that was on boxing day, so go figure.

Anyway, there is a NZ gaming website, where you can buy games and stuff: http://www.gamezone.co.nz

When I was in a central park interactive store, I was quite shocked by what games I saw (this was about a week or so before xmas) F1cs2000 was out. I was like "Oh, I didn\'t think we\'d see this game till next year, and also X-Squad or something, I thought that game was coming out way later next year too.

But yeah, there aren\'t many game to chose from.
TTT
RRV
SSX
Madden
NHL
X-Squad
Fantavision
F1
Fifa
they were aout all the game they had in at THAT time
