PSX Emulators
« on: January 01, 2001, 06:35:43 PM »
Hi all,

I wonder if any of you guys here are into emulators especially PSX emulators. I\'ve been trying the Connectix Virtual Game Station emulator and it seems to be working with a lot more games than Bleem, especially the newer games. Right now I\'m playing Persona 2 with the VGS ver1.41 and it seems to be okay but crashes occasionaly during the fight sequence. Threads of Fate seems to be working initially but when the character tries to walk out of the door in the initial opening sequence, he just get stuck at the door walking but not moving anywhere!

I tried to get FF9 to work on it but only manage to get the Square name in the opening and the music to play, after that it\'s blank screen all the way...:(

The reason I\'m trying to run these games on my PC is that my PSX is dead(1996-2000 R.I.P.) and I can\'t use it no more.
Furthermore, emulator has the advantage of using virtually unlimited memory cards. :)

The only thing I found is that VGS is not as flashy as Bleem with windowed support and graphical enhancement like anti-aliasing, it just play the PSX game in what looks like it\'s original form.

Anyone else here have funny/bad/good experience with PSX emulators? Drop a post here and share it with me!

Connetics is about the best you can get realy. My brother paid for bleem! and was well dissapointed, Even on a
Athlon 700 with GE-Force 2 DDR. Stick with connetics man or pay about £40-60 for a 2nd hand PS

I tried a bunch of PSX emulators, but I\'ve only got a pentium 200 so it\'s not worth the effort. Out of 14 the games I have, only 2 work. Soul Blade and Driver. SB is tolerable at low resoultuions with no hardware effects on and Driver speeds along at a breakneck speed of 2fps tops.
Please Bleed.. so I know that you are real.
Please Bleed.. so I know that you can feel the damage that you\'ve done.

LOL. You have my sympathy. :)

I wish they\'ll(Connectix) fix up a version that can run FFIX soon coz my loaned PS(from a friend) skipped some really important FMV!!!
