Interesting article on slashdot /.  It seems that hackers have discovered a way into their supposidely sercure servers.  Well so much for that.  Im glad I don\'t play on-line games like that.

Pfftt! Old news.. As bad as it was then, good old Blizzard has delivered the goods once more, as you will see in the following official statement.

Quote

During the past week, some players have experienced character losses. Instances have ranged from hardcore characters dying, to the loss of items, skill points and experience in normal characters.

As of this morning, we can confirm that the problem causing these losses has been fixed. We recognize that the loss of a hardcore character or unique items is a cause of great concern to players. To remedy the situation, we are taking the following steps:

1. Monday, January 8, we will be reviving all hardcore characters who died between December 19th and January 1st. The restored hardcore characters will be revived with the experience, skills and items possessed as of Tuesday, December 19th. This restore will be automatic and players do not need to contact Blizzard to request that their character be restored. Note: Only dead hardcore characters that died between December 19th and January 1st will be revived.

2. In the event that players believe they have lost items, skill points or experience, we will be providing a mechanism by which players can manually flag their character to be restored as well. The restore will occur on Monday, January 8, and will rollback characters to the way they were saved as of December 19th. Please check http://www.battle.net/forums/diablo2-realmstatus/ on Wednesday January 3, where we will be posting information on how you can flag your character to be included in the rollback.

We apologize for any inconvenience or frustration that this problem may have caused players. We believe that these solutions address the majority of losses that have occurred. Please contact support@blizzard.com if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank You,

Blizzard Entertainment

Good old Blizz, aren\'t they just dandy!

Glad I don\'t play Diablo II anymore...

here\'s few reasons why:

1) I got bored with the game. Played three months every day three hours-

2) Some hacker-d00d got to my account and deleted my best guy!!! ( this was the final needle wich stung me - i had enough. Now there\'s an option to change your password but nah; the game can go to h3ll )

Diablo was much better than the sequel.

It\'s been a while since I last played Diablo 2, but I think it a great game - if you like the genre. If you do then it\'s much better than Diablo 1 IMO.

I haven\'t played it because I forgot my password to my only character - and a kick@$$ one that was... :(

So now I\'ve learned my lesson: If you use a new password be sure to use it often or write it down.

Well; everyone has their own opinion :)

And I do like the genre.

Yes Diablo II was good when it WAS good... I just played it to death ( or then not ).

Maybe I\'ll step to the world of hack and slash once more when I\'ve gathered enough power to re-install the game.

Man I love Blizzard :) They are by far the best computer gaming company IMO and maybe even the best overall. And they do all this cool stuff for their employees. I wanna work for Blizzard when I get older.

Joyda, I agree with you on that part. I used to play D2 a bunch. I only had a lvl45 necro when I stopped, but he was decked out, especially right at the point when my account got hacked by some loser and he took all of my belongings so I was pissed and quit the game. Its a great game though, as long as those deletions and lags aren\'t a problem, mostly due to the overpopulation of the west/east servers by what the players call them "chinks" (i didn\'t make this up, so dont think i\'m racist or anything). D2 is better than the first one as well, more spells, weapons etc. I remember I had an soj, umes, worm, tearhaunches, frosties and all the other uniques you could think of. Its very easy to make friends on there.:)

It was a darkness all my own, a song played on the radio, It went straight to my heart - I carried it with me - until the darkness was gone.

Iv\'e played sc and i hate when people hack!I fought this hacker 1v1 and i survived pretty long because of my photon cannons. But he aventualy wiped out them with his guardians!
