You don\'t have multiple input ports on your receiver? If you do you connect the DVD player to one and the VCR to the other. You wouldn\'t connect your PS2 to the receiver and then back to the TV. For both of them you would use A/V cables.

I am sorry but I really do not know much about hooking these things up.  I bought the "monster cable" it goes to the tv? Do I have to buy a different cable to go to the stereo? What cable would that be?

Which Monster Cable did you buy? It should have a connection for the Video and the Audio.

The monster cable is the looks the same as the one that came with it? Does it take one cable to the TV and one cable to the stereo? There is only one output jack on the back?

The last post is correct
The yellow end goes to your TV
The other 2 ends (red & Blue I think) ANyway the other 2 go to your Reciever. The moster cords should split apart if you pull them apart to seperate the 3 cords to give you enough length.

first of all if u have  a dvd player in your ps2 why the heck are u even wasting time connecting a vcr?  For my surround sound i simply bought the "monster cable" but one end in the ps2 and one in the box to the sourround sound(i put it in the dvd slot)Thats all i had to do but yours could be different.  NE ways when u do get it working your gonna love it it totally changes gaming

Does the reciever have digital inputs?  If it does, then just get an optical digital cable and run it from your PS2 to your reciever.

Otherwise you could just hook up both the vcr and PS2 to your tv then hook the tv up to the reciever with the audio outputs on the tv, I am guessing you already have the tv hooked up to the reciever this way.

If you can\'t do it that way, then hook the PS2 and vcr up to the reciever, then hook a video cable up from the output on the reciever to the video input on your tv, you don\'t have to hook the audio up to the tv.

Wow, this is a tough one to tackle.  You may want to hire someone to come and plug in those couple of wires.  If you really think you are up to it here it goes.

Your stereo has probably several inputs.  Plug each component into the input that makes sense.  VCR plugs into the VCR input.  DVD plugs into the DVD input.  I think you get the idea.  You hook these up by taking the one end of the RCA cable and plugging it into the component and the other end into the corresponding colored connection on your receiver.

Your stereo also has an output.  You take your little red, white, and yellow cables and you essentially connect the dots between the stereo and your tv.  Plug the yellow wire into the yellow output plug on your receiver.  Then on the other end of the wire you will see another yellow plug.  This goes into the yellow plug on the input of your tv.  Do this with the Red and White plugs in the same manor.

Then you can use your stereo as a switcher while leaving your tv on the same aux input.  This way you can hook up as many components as your stereo will allow.

As for Monster Cables, take them back and buy yourself a game.

Tomorrow we will tackle using the VCR out on the receiver to allow you to record some of those awesome tricks in SSX on videotape by connecting it to the input of your VCR.
