X-Box Pics More Of \'em

I just got sent some pictures of the xbox console from xbox.com.

seems to me this machine needs a lot of cooling.
1 question, because the xbox uses a normal computer processor does that mean it\'ll make as much noise as a normal computer??

The noise depends from the funs and the Disk driver(sound of the disk spinning),It has nothing to do with theprocesor

Maybe not as loud as a normal pc but it\'ll still be very loud.
The P3 processor needs an heatsink and a fan.
The GPU will also need an heatsink and a fan.
The media communications processor will brobly use both.
The Hard drive will make alot of noise while spinnning.
The cd/dvd drive will make alot of noise.
And there is also a big fan on the back of it near the power supply so this machine will probly be the loudest.
T GameCube will be the most silent since the PPC processor doesn\'t require active cooling.

I doubt the XBox will be noisy. Afterall, portable PCs contain DVD drives, hard disks, Pentium processors etc, and yet most laptops are very quite!

Looks alright, nothing amazing or original. I do like the green sphere thing on the top though.

there is a dvd drive but you have to get a special remote/software package to allow it to play movies.
The games can be on dvd and the system can use a dvd drive without supperting movies.

The design of the box is sweet :)

Much better than gamecubes. But controller and graphics demos - Yuk...
I met him 15 years ago, I was told there was nothing left, no reason, no concious, no understanding and even the most rudamentory sense of life or death, good or evil, right or wrong, I met this 6 year old child with this blang pale emotionless face and, the blackest eyes, the devils eyes, I spent 8 years trying to reach him, and then another 7 trying to keep him locked up because I realised what was living behind that boys eyes was purly and simply evil.

Looks more like a car radiator... :) Cool anyways, as long as it plays decent games.

The controller looks horrible though. Like a cheap DC controller rip-off PC peripheral. How it handles is another story...

Hmmm... It is quite cool, but I still hate that lime color and I still say that it was what I expected it to be.

Nothing spectacular, just a pile of copied stuff :)

But hey, so we can say about every console...

Looking form the controllers, the size of the X Box seems just about the same as PSX, just a bit taller, doncha\' think?

saw this post earlier in this thread:

"does the whole "x" lid lift up to insert a disk? hmmm"

hehe, that would be pretty cool! we should ask them to make a LaserDisc console out of it, they sure have the space...;)
