I got it for $19.99 at Babbage\'s, just remember to get a PS1 memory card if you\'re going to play on a PS2 since it won\'t save to a PS2 memory card.  You can find it on eBay for around $15, but it was worth the extra $5 to me to be able to get a fresh new copy right down the street.

W-T-T, first off, forget the $1 deal.  I\'d bet that was a deal between a bud and Live, not a retail price (Live, feel free to correct me if I\'m wrong).

Since MGS is now part of Sony\'s Greatest Hits lineup, you should be able to purchase it for around $19.99US or less full retail pretty much anywhere.  If you check out the previously played section of EB or Babbages, you should find it for around $15.00US or less.

Now, regarding MGS...however you buy it...buy it! Period.  If you\'ve never played this game before, then your in for a treat & you don\'t need to be wasting your time & effort over a buck or two savings when you could be playing one of the finest designed & thoughtout games ever to grace a home console.

Remember this, however.  One day you will purchase a PS2.  When you DO, promise yourself you will remember to pull out your "old" copy of MGS and set the "smoothing" feature on on the PS2.  No matter how many times you might have played MGS on your PSX by that time, seeing what the PS2 can do to the MGS graphics (with the smoothing feature turned on), your jaw will simply drop.

PS.  Yeah, MGS:SOL will be out for PS2 down the road & will blow MGS for PSX away,...but the fact is, MGS offers itself up as one of the best PSX games to show off the smoothing feature on the PS2...

Picture this: Dave finds an available seat for his \"Aggressive Drivers Anonymous\" encounter group session.   Saying, \"Hello\" he sits amongst his support group of S2K owners...  Smiling, they rock ever-so-gently to and fro in their chairs...humming peacefully...drinking coffee...and rolling little AutoArt & Maisto S2000s across their knees.  At this moment, the group responds in unison, \"Hi, w1ngman!\" :D
