Sega PS2 Middleware...

Sega has announced that it is bringing its line of Dreamcast middleware tools to the PS2. Called Ninja and Shinobi, these tools allowed developers to get close to the Dreamcast hardware and were an alternative to the Win CE development path. Unfortunately, Sega has been rather secretive about their specifics.
It\'s unclear if the tools are being designed internally for Sega use only, or if others will have access to them as well. With the backing of some of Sega\'s finest, these tools could be a developer\'s best friend in porting DC games to the PS2, and in general PS2 development.

Rather off topic. But, the word Shinobi made me think. "Damn, we need another Shinobi".

Remember, Sega has the most talented developers in the world. and, These are the guys that mastered the SATURN. Very difficult to develop for... VERY. So, if they make GOOD ps2 development tools, we will see the full potential of the system, and it will be easier for developers to use.
