I\'ve spent right at the $1000 mark. Rather depressing. At least $300 of that could of went for more "useful" things.

Ah, oh well.

I spent almost that much @ launch. If I weren\'t boycotting Sony products, I\'d have spent twice that by now... but I guess thats still way more than most people...

Well, I won\'t even get into the \'best Consumer elect.\'s company\' argument, but I will say I just disagree. As for my boycott, look at poor Sega... 50% of the creative and innovative stuff that pushes hardware foward is dead. Compared to the innovation of DC, PS2 is a overhyped set top box. Sega brings a lot to the hardware side of the industry (they had the first analog buttons, the triggers. Sony just copied in a attempt to one up them, added the number of analog buttons.) as opposed to Sony who\'s other innovation is 2 analog sicks and handles on a snes controller (this time just to one up Nintendo). The withdrawing of Sega from the hardware industry is going to leave it up to Nintendo alone to innovate. I\'m sure their up to it, but if it werent for Pokemon, you know they\'d have been in Sega\'s position after Virtual Boy and N64. Sony is a leech on the industry, homogenizing my favorite pasttime/hobby into a interactive hollywood. How many truely good movies are their each year? How many CD\'a a year come out that you like from begining to end? With MS entering the fray, the only thing that\'ll keep the industry true to itself, is Nintendo, and a few developers like Sega, etc. I blame mainstream gamers for this. Where did they come from? Thank Sony. They together \'killed\' Sega. And being that I actually *gawd!* have some honor and loyalty *whodathunkit?* I am only buying Sega games for PS2, but no non Sega games. So why am I here still? I don\'t hate ya\'ll, and we\'re all (well, most of us) real gamers, so I still like coming here.

And despite what some think, I dont love MS either, I just cant blame them since their systems not out yet, and it\'s be unfair of me to be as critical. No one said \'I\'m gonna skip DC, DC sux. Xbox rulez!!\' Many have said it w/PS2 though, and this is a free contry (USA) and I can boycott in protest as I please, being as bitter as I want. I may rent games, I\'m just not buying any Sony stuff. I\'m still a gamer and would be mental not to like some of the **** coming up. But I want to do everything in my power to send Sony a message. Yes, they will never notice I\'m gone, so what? I have principles, and I stand firm behind my beliefs. I\'m not a spinless cry baby who just talks **** and can\'t back it up. I stand up for everything I believe in, no matter how insignificant.

Lol. Thats Stupid. A company is a company. In the south, the blacks boycotted Buses, and white buisness. What happened? they suffered. Thats a cause. But Sony is a Japanese company, That could care less about you boycotting them, because they make such a good buisness

EXCEPT when it comes to laptops... hehehe

anyway, Alteredbeast accepted sega\'s fate, and so have I.
We both look foward to sega\'s last hardware year with games like sonic 2 and shenmue 2 and perhaps some surprises, and then enjoy out ps2 too :) Sony has little to do with the demise of sega, its been in the plans all along, proabably months before the ps2 was release or before.

Chrono- Nigga please. It was all PS2 and mainstreamers fault. No one elses.

Animal- You keep acting like you like Japanese culture, but turn around and diss honor and loyalty. That\'s a American for you... And my \'cause\' is not supposed to be compared to anything in the past, it\'s simply my decision as someone with strong convictions and loyalty showing with my consumer dollar how I feel about this.
