FFIV makes comeback!
« on: February 09, 2001, 05:36:05 PM »
It just goes to show you the oldies are still the best.

Sure, it\'s on a 16-bit console with 2D graphics, extremely generic environmental effects, and decorated with neat little flashies and blinkies, but most fans agree that Final Fantasy IV is one of the best Final Fantasy titles of all time (a notch beneath VI) and Chrono Trigger was the best game ever created for the Super Nintendo.

Not too long ago, Square asked users to contact them via e-mail regarding a re-release of these two titles and without a doubt, consumers buried in the powerful 3D gaming consoles of today, still hunger for these classics.

This release definitely bodes well with fans of the series who were extremely disappointed with the lacked inclusion of IV in Final Fantasy: Anthology, the more limited overseas release of the Final Fantasy Collection in Japan which included IV, V, and VI.

Both titles in this new collection will receive the Anthology treatment, including additions such as the single FFIV FMV seen from the Collection, as well as some Anime treats, an OMAKE option, and some additional endings to Chrono Trigger. It\'s not entirely certain if Square will simply dump the existing easy type translated version of Final Fantasy II to the Playstation or tack on additional material seen from Japan\'s Hard Type Final Fantasy IV.

The Final Fantasy IV and Chrono Trigger PSX release is expected to hit stores later this fall.

They should actually redesign the game for PS2, that would be better!

If they had a PS2 package of FFI-IX I\'d surely wet myself.

Me too :)

But that surely was just a rumor. Why would they even announce that kind of a package before FFIX even has arrived here?

Maybe the package could be first square-product for PS3 maybe :D

there\'d be lots of hours to spend on. many months.
